For the people who have been doing the giveaways for a while, how often has this happened to you?

First time I have ever had that happened to me. Ended up having a 5 copy giveaway completed and on a hunch I checked out the people. And one of them actually had me blacklisted and it can't be because of ratio because his made mine look perfect by comparison.

Went ahead and gave it to him because it was a legit win, but what do you guys normally do if this happens to you? Was debating on asking for a reroll on principle but even then, no clue if I would have got it and still seemed kinda wrong.

I couldn't care less - he might have blacklisted me for valid reasons, I don't have anything against him, so why I should feel negative towards that person?

The principle behind it, you blacklist them from your stuff but still want to enter theirs.

If I blacklisted someone from mine, I will make sure I never entered theirs because it would feel kinda hypocritical to do so.

How do you know he did it intentionally? SG doesn't prohibit you from joining giveaways of people you blacklisted, he's probably not even aware that it happened. You can even ask him to agree on reroll - if he blacklisted you for legit reason then his pride won't allow him to accept a gift from a guy that he blacklisted.

Some people indeed are hypocrites, but majority is simply unaware. That's also why I keep my blacklist empty - I could join a giveaway by accident without even realizing that I blacklisted given person, so instead I don't blacklist anybody, even those worst jerks that are trying hard to test my patience and/or blacklisted me first.

I guess. They need to implement a function to make the blacklists reciprocal so it goes both ways or give people the ability to set that option in their profiles. Just seems wrong to me.

This system was discussed before and it has some defects. 4xmpl, person can unblacklist you, enter your gib and blacklist you again, so this implement loses its point.

Not if they added a 7 day cool down period between when the reciprocal blacklist ended (While giving the account owner the option to drop it sooner). That alone would fix it. Then if they were to unblacklist you, they would still miss that giveaway and you would be able to enter theirs for the next 7 days anyways.

Funniest abbreviation I've seen in a long time. Anyway, this workaround is easily fixed by implementing restrictions on how often you can re-blacklist the same person, and/or detect patterns of abuse, 4xmpl in the same way people circumvent SGT restrictions by un- and remarking gifts. That way, if a person wants to enter the giveaway in particular, he will at least be forced to keep you unblacklisted until a reasonable amount of time has passed (some weeks/months, maybe).

Can it be called as 'Misuse of Giveaway Feedback'?

Definitely

Oh, than that's ok, 'cause SG will give permaban for that.

Knsys, the dev of SGTools, permabans users for the following:

Users that misuse giveaway feedback to bypass giveaway rules
Giveaway url leakers
Trying to exploit in any other way the system

Well, that was obvious for me, I just didn't understand if SG would give any punishment for this.

What I can say is that in one of my SGTools trains I had a user that won a gift and that had fiddled with his or her feedback. I asked and got a re-roll very fast by SG support and he or her was swiftly SGT permabanned by Knsys.

But there is no valid reason to blacklist JustArchi :(
Unless you refused to make a free userscript for them

I personally don't use my blacklist at all, but I don't mind if someone blacklists me, I'm sure they had their reason and it's their giveaways so they can choose if they don't want to give me anything.

I don't see the point of blacklisting someone because they blacklisted you though, to me that's like saying you should hate someone if they hate you

I've never checked my winners for that and, tbh, I don't care if they do. But I had won GAs from people who had blacklisted me before I won :D

Ah, you are a better man than I then. I still gave it to them because they earned it legit. But I did make sure to blacklist on principle.

My entire blacklist is made up entirely of people who blacklist me and is the only thing I blacklist for. Having a disagreement with them is no reason to blacklist to me, nor just about anything else but if they want to cut me off, I feel obligated in fairness to do the same.

i've considered the opposite.. but don't want to have to manage and keep track of real whitelists and revenge whitelists.. ^^

i'd love to capture someones expression when they realized that instead of revenge blacklisting i revenge whitelisted them though. it'd be priceless. :P

easily done with a pricy giveaway so they can thank you for the "chance" most of the time, but you'll only be getting words unless you want to get creative and creepy.

that sounds negative, but people are generally thrilled to be able to enter for any expensive game especially when it's limited

I didnt, once but for different reasons.
Apparently i'm not giving games out of kindness, im just filthy rich and have nothing else to do with that money, don't even consider thanking me.
Yeah, i still remember when i hit level 8 and suddenly my pockets were exploding with money, now i have to go drink at starbucks everyday just to get rid of it .

I'd give the game out no problem if they activated all of their games, even if I don't see the point of randomly blacklisting.

I don't even check if I'm blacklisted. It's their own business if they want to BL me, like my own if I want to BL them :)

I still gave it to him as it was a legit win, just made sure to blacklist him afterward. Was seriously debating on it though out of principle.

As I said before, my entire blacklist is nothing but people who blacklist me and I blacklist for no other reason, not through arguing or anything else I have ever bothered with. I find a level requirement is sufficient if I really want to get picky about stuff or if I chose, a whitelist.

not sending a game is not against the rules and will not gain a suspension. it has to be extremely clear and obvious in order for support to classify something as a "fake giveaway".

not that i recommend that as the route of action to take, but just saying' ^^

About a halve a dozen times this happened to me and it's very low and very cowardly. :X

I thought about taken the not received but these things are totally not worth it.

Edit: The reverse can't happen as I use the SG Game Tags script so I don't enter giveaways from users I have on my blacklist.

Also when I check my winners I now always check if they blacklisted me and if so they will get their game eventually and I return the favor.
