So, with the sudden addition of February Big Sale, do you think Valve will follow other stores and bring Big Sales like every month?
Easter Sale for March, Spring Sale for April, Labor Day Sale for May etc. ?
Or this was just an incident that's not going to be a rule?

3 answers for yes, 3 answers for no, with additional "emotional" edge.

More sales equals more products sold. If they start huge sales every month, it won't be that surprising. Maybe Valve is testing out how their sales compare to the Summer and Winter sales.

I think that if there are going to be sales every month or so, the discounts of each won't be that high...

They may still do a short easter one before the big summer sale and, if I remember right, there was a short "back to school" sale before the fall one in November but I don't believe it will be a strict monthly occurrence. Otherwise, with Monday's deals already going on, there will be less and less reasons to buy a game at publisher's MSRP price xD

I don't know i they'll be going monthly that fast, but they're definitely having a sale every 2-3 months.
The good thing is that you don't need to wait as long for the next sale. The bad thing is that you get false pricing - like Shadow of Mordor has been on sale for most of the past 6 months for under $15, but officially still costs $50. Used to be that after a year or two, the prices of games would drop -> from $50 to $25 to $10 to the bargain basement bin. The future is that games will always maintain their official price, but the discounts during sales will get bigger and bigger.

From a marketing perspective, it works. People are more likely to buy an item marked $50 and half off, than one priced at $25 with no discount. Ron Johnson's short, disastrous, tenure heading JC Penney is proof of that

I believe this Lunar sale is a side effect of removal of Daily/Hourly sales on month old Holiday sale. Although some sites and charts states otherwise, IMO there was a loss of revenue which this sale is expected to band-aid.

IMO, it's more of hundreds of sites that have various "Steam Key Sales" all year, getting money that Valve wants - and if they want piece of an action, then they need to make their own big sales...
