EDIT: Only four people paid attention to the original post, so I've decided to make a giveaway to bring more people in ;p Questions aren't really demanding. Just some simple Raven's Cry-oriented questions (and other pirate games as well) you can easily find on the internetz.

Original post:
Probably no one but me cares about it, but Reality Pump became new developer of a game Raven's Cry. If it is first time you've heard about Raven's Cry, go educate yourself, because this game will be better than Black Flag :P Okay, maybe it won't be better, but at least there won't be any redundant sci-fi alien crap, and the ships won't be moving like motorboats. The game also should have a darker tone and some decisions that alter the storyline. I am waiting for a really great open-world pirate action RPG since playing Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 10 years ago, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for this game. Here is some footage of Raven's Cry before transition to another engine(now it will run on GLACIER, the same technology used in Two Worlds 2).

No problem, the more people know about this game, the merrier ;) I've also loved those Akella games, way better than overrated Pirates! reboot from 2005. And this music :3!

Hmm, never heard of it but if it has ships and pirates I'm in!

Anyway we don't know for sure what game will be the best. We have to wait and see.

Usually it's not a good sign when a new developer is required to take over a project from another one - and they're not even based in the same country.

Maybe not, but I am still hoping that Reality Pump will make a good game- the screens look good(one really reminds me of Witcher 2's Flotsam, which is a good thing;)) and as I've read from one Polish reporter who saw the game in Cologne it looks fun in action too. We'll just have to wait and see, what kind of game they will make from it.

I'm not really into pirate games, only one I played looong time ago was DOS or maybe win 3.11 version of Pirates! Gold. It was good (according to my brother) but little too complex for my age then ( too many English words ;) ).

Anyway I'll probably check Raven's Cry, looks promising.

Thanks for puzzle (Q8 spelling is really annoying).

Raven's Cry looks like it could be pretty fun- I like pirates, naval combat, and good action combat.

This is a good point, it's time for a great pirate game. Curse of the Black Pearl was amazing but unfinished and full of bugs. Pirates! was also a blast, but failed where Black Pearl succeeded, the feeling that you were a part of a piratey world rather than it's sole influence. Puzzle Pirates was awesome, but the servers are dead.

Will certainly keep up with the news on this, thanks for the heads up.

Why, I ask you, whyyy, did you have to mention SMP? :P That game was mediocre at best, a bunch of minigames joint together and non-existent storyline. To this day I ask myself the question why the hell did this game get rated so high (nostalgia? Sid Meier's name in front of the title? Game so easy a toddler can beat it? Bribes? Cool cover(that's actually the only good thing about the game;))?

Because while short-lived, it was fun. It reminded me of The Sims-- I didn't feel like I was really doing anything, or that much, but suddenly 6 hours had passed. It's not a game you're going to play more than once, but it was a blast for a weeklong bender.

For me it was too repetitive and not really that much of a fun. I've waited to play this game for some time because I was expecting something similar to the Curse of the Black Pearl, only better... What I've got was an arcade game that offered little challenge (the most difficult part of a pirate life? DANCING!) and variety. But as they say- to each his own. Speaking of which, it's time for some advertising!- if you liked the PotC, this might be fun for you. English version should be hitting Steam any time now ;)
