I'm looking for a 26 episode or shorter series to watch. It would be awesome if you could recommend me something.

Berserk! The anime is short, like you wanted, but the manga is still going on.

Please do, I finished it a week ago, it had such a huge impact on me, it's quite an intelligent and complex anime despite the appearances.

Already on your to watch list, but Psycho Pass is really good. Season 2 (only 12 eps) is really good (but you have to watch season 1 first).

basically the movies show u more and more indepth than the series but this is just my opinion. watched both series and movies

films show you much less as it few hours less than the series. And the series already cuts down on what the manga has.

While the movies cut out some good stuff, they also fixed what was wrong with the TV series (they introduced Skull Knight properly)

My top recommendations are Ghost in the Shell (all of it, but the first, second, and SAC movies are the best, though the SAC series are required to know everything going on in the movie, and there are slight spoilers if you skip the series), Time of Eve (provoking "art house" short series about androids; not particularly exciting but cool animation and interesting style), Trigun (a classic, it's just great), Jin Roh (another classic), and Ergo Proxy (a bit of mind-screw with your action), with Working (dysfunctional family restaurant comedy) and Acchi Kocchi (slice of life meets romantic comedy where everything is okay and happy) to lighten the mood.

Oh, crap, I totally forgot Kara no Kyoukai. That probably comes in towards the top, though it might be longer as a series than 26 episodes, since it's seven (short-ish, but still long) movies.

In my opinion, Angel Beats is not sad, it's just too emotional. But I still agree that you need a time to chill. After I've finished watching, I tried to play cs, but just couldn't, I was playing worse than the bad I usually am.

Interesting. I personally thought Second Gig was the weaker of the SAC series, but I didn't care for the villain as much.

I found these pastebins a friend sent me years ago. I haven't watched them all, but these are his recommendations, with short descriptions and content warnings (I was, at one point, fairly sheltered. I also had a mirror behind my monitor, so everyone could see what I was watching.):
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=W2pKAyB2
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=DcWYjRpt

From the list, I realized I completely forgot Sora no Woto, which is the happiest apocalypse ever.

I would strike Kotura-san from the list, since the show was weak throughout (started strong, went downhill) and some of the shows (like Working!, which now has three seasons) are out of date.

NGE is the fourth in my Gainax list, or maybe fifth, Fushigi no Umi no Nadia is a great anime. But Tengen Toppa and FLCL are much better (in my opinion obviously) Top wo Nerae is the first great gainax mecha, older, different, maybe just for fans, but my favorite.

If you watch it before, you may could not understand things that was happening(things that are explained in SN) and destroy the climax of some plot twist(like it happened to me in star wars >.<).

Also, after all, you could watch the Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works. It's awesome.

Chobits is one i finally got around to watching it's a little ecchi but not really that over the top like a lot of stuff i've watched

Akame ga Kill! is on your to watch list so JUST DO IT

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is one of my favorite animes i've watched maybe 200 serise and this is one of the best going the first 2-3 episodes may seem a little slow but stick with it well worth a watch.

Sc-Ry-D is pretty old but damn it was well worth a watch when i got around to it.

I have to add this one Yuru Yuri girls doing girly things and it's oh so funny and they are making another season of it so hyper for the moe cuteness and the damn fine hair.
