I am not into phones much, heck i don't even use one myself, but was my niece her phone and i flashed it with a format, wasn't really working properly so guessing something went wrong there, still got the IMEI numbers on the box.
Tried #06# to fill in the imei number there but not working, is there any easy solution to try?

That just shows the IMEI, there are guides like this but I have no idea how safe they are.

Some guides are very complicated with no guarantee that still works.
Your link shows imeichanger which could be what i am looking for, but apparently it's removed from the play store.
Be easiest to have something in 2-3 steps or an app that could change the imei, but dunno if that's possible.

So what illegal stuff are you planning on doing Lugum? Or just stolen some phones?

Your best option is to ask on xda subforum for the phone you have. But if you did not make beckup before flashing there is a chance they can not help you.
Hope you find a solition and good luck.

Wouldn't there be some simple way to just enter the IMEI code again manually then? i got the box and the number.

Thanks.

no otherwise people can easily just steal phones, wipe them, and then re-enter whatever IMEI code they like. Since on losing a phone you get your IMEI code blocked on the networks so it's unusable in the country.

It's still possible to change it, they just make it as difficult as possible to deter theft.

No, and Larren101 мentioned the reason, sorry.

Tried #06# or *#06#? The later is the right one but you can also go to Settings > General > About device > Status (for an Android phone) and see what IMEI it has. I don't think you could simply lose an IMEI number but I'm not too much into phones myself.

I tried #06# but it said couldnt find network i believe, the IMEI number it says now is 0.0.0.0.
Her Phone hanged, so i flashed it, went fine for a few weeks, then happened again, but i forgot what i did, didn't go so well so i just choosen delete/format (silly i know now without backup).
But apparently it can also just happen with a factory reset / firmware upgrade.

I'd say it's *#06#.
I've tried on mine at it returns its IMEI

But if it apparently only shows the IMEI (it says 0.0.0.0) wouldn't be of use anyway, i need to change it to somehow to the Original.

Judging by your responses I would guess that the IMEI might be intact, just the ROM you used to flash the phone doesn't work properly. Did you observe any other errors? Are you sure the ROM file was for the correct phone model?

Even if the IMEI might say 0.0.0.0?

I might have used the wrong rom first (not sure, but it would be the one that came with the flash program, definitely not one for a wrong model) but in the end i used the rom atleast that i used to flash it before and that worked fine for about 2-3 weeks then it got stuck at the huawei logo without doing anything else (why i flashed it before).
Her Phone still works fine except she can't make or receive calls, can't view her emails, and in the notifications it also says wrong IMEI.

Could it ever backup that information automatically to your SD or can that only be if you did it manually?

Like other people said overwriting an IMEI number is not that easy or else it would not protect against phone theft. 0.0.0.0 seems like a placeholder in case it was impossible to fetch the right one(for example due to faulty ROM unable to handle the hardware correctly)
I'm not that much into phones myself, just wanted to warn you not to perform any actions on the rush. If it's ROM related trying to overwrite it in the current state might make things worse.
As other people suggested XDA forum is the way to go.

Was the format done before the flash with the correct ROM or the one you are not so sure about?

Overwriting IMEI is not easy, but corrupting /efs partition (or equivalent on non-samsung devices) is actually not that uncommon, and that causes all device-related stuff like IMEIs, mac addresses and everything else to disappear, permanently if you don't have a backup.

Didn't see the comment until now, the format was done before the flash with the wrong rom, formate/flash it does it all in the same program.
We brought the phone to a phone shop, the guy didn't know what to do with it either, supposedly he spent 3 hours on it (but only charged us 10 euro).
My niece is aiming to get a new phone, still somehow it feels like a waste that this can still somehow be fixed, but the phone guy also said her battery was poor.

that happened to me once, on an LG phone, a new ROM would just not return the IMEI number.

i fixed it by installing the official rom of the phone, or returning to the previous rom.

But you propably didn't just wipe/format so information was kept still?

Maybe as Aldocoran pointed, then maybe i am not using the proper rom though.

no i did complete wipes between them, yes i think is rom related, try another one see if it works.

It is possible to get an imei by using Imei Tools.

But then it would get shady "illegal" i still got the Original IMEI just need a way to get it inside the Phone again.

IMEI is stored in a special location that a user should not be able to modify. Seeing how your wipe managed to delete that there is a chance you managed to delete other stuff you were not not supposed to be able to modify like specifics about the installed modem etc so jut getting the IMEI restored might now be enough.

But I don't knwo enough to be certain, so best of luck!

You didn't write anything about the tools and options used. Such data should be protected, it might simply be inaccessible due to the wrong ROM. Double check if the currently installed one is for the exact model you are using.

Maybe i choosen the wrong scatter file, rom file (because i couldn't find the site at that time so i did it by memory from how i did it last time, i will retry with these proper instruction once downstairs pc is clear.

Dunno, even a botched firmware flash (if that's what you've done) shouldn't affect the IMEI, from what you wrote elsewhere, it sounds like perhaps the hardware already had problems, and your attempt may have been just the final nail.

Could be, my niece said the Phone started to act more slowly for awhile, and then 2 times it hanged on startup (why i flashed) since factory reset wasn't working.

My dad also has a Huawei and his randomly shuts down, the whole brand is cheaper which might be because of cheaper hardware they use.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-huawei-y360-u61-stock-rom-factory-t3775937 that's the correct type of the Phone and the flash software i used (only last time i did it without the instructions) i am guessing all of that should be the correct tools?

On MTK 65** processors you can use Chamelephon or Ghost Phone app, but you need root for that.

First thing you should do is restoring that phone to stock completely, this includes not just wiping /data partition but reflashing stock ROM (whatever it is) to confirm whether or not it's /efs corruption. If on stock ROM you'll have exactly the same behaviour, then you're very unlikely to return that phone to normal functioning, unless you can find such backup and edit it to match your IMEI and stuff. If you're lucky to find a tool capable of doing that on your device variant, you might also be lucky enough to write that partition from grounds-up, but that depends on data format.

It's back to stock rom, i came across one tool (forgot the name) that supposedly could fix IMEI and alot of issues on alot of devices but you had to pay for it through other vendors which seemed shady, plus was no guarantee that would work anyway.
Brought it to a phone shop, guy spent 3 hours on it and gave up, also the phone had a bad battery, my niece will get a new phone.

You seem to have your EFS partition corrupted. There are tools to restore /fix a corrupted EFS partition if you are lucky. You need to go to XDA and head over to the forum of your phone variant and seek further help regarding this matter.

Yes, I know. Time is very expensive.

At least, the mobile can be used as a "small tablet". To check some websites, mail... Take videos or photographs.
Not that bad!

There are ways to restore IMEI if you know the numbers, but they are specific to brand (and sometimes even to models). So what I believe you need to do is visit appropriate section on XDA, and ask questions there, if any. This would be much more productive.

It's mtk phone, so there shouldn't be any problem setting any imei you want.
Like this (Extreme method) or this. Not sure if huawei has any tweaks/block for this.
PS if i'm correct IMEI is in NVRAM, so you can restore NVRAM backup (if you have one) by the firmware flashing tool / way.
