The reasons are arbitrary.
This means that maybe you were being a huge massive dick at some point. Maybe you were cheating at puzzles. Maybe you were leeching in a group. There are a lot of different reasons people are on that list, mostly cheating and leeching.

Some people here are just very arrogant, and blacklist right away, if they don't like your comment ... Once I saw a guy, who said in a doctor Who topic: "I don't like doctor Who." - instant blacklist by a guy, who has like 200+ blacklist - God complex. Some people here just blacklist you, if you have different opinion about things, like them. :D Ridiculous. :D You just have to stop care, like I did long time ago. :)
Actually, allowing 100+ blacklist was one of the worst decisions by support. 1-2% of this are actually cheaters, and others are just random forum folk,s who like to talk in the forums ...
Meh, I'm good to be in all of these blacklists, these guys make mainly those private group giveaways or private dlc/bundle giveaways anyways; nothing for the casual SG user. :)

If I am blacklisting someone it is because they are a leecher, a cheater, or a complete and utter dickhead in another way shape or form. Very rarely will I blacklist someone because of what they said on the forums.

You have a 300+ blacklist, I guarantee you the BIG majority of them are not cheaters or "bad" guys. I'm really sorry, but blacklists just lost all the meaning for me. These SG blacklists are not what the word blacklist really stands for.
You have blacklisted skullripper, ozo, hustlayo, boxer ... and I don't even know who else to list. All nice people, talking in the forums. So what, maybe they once wrote a comment, you didn't like? BAMM, blacklist.
You DO blacklist people for what they saying in the forums, there is no other way to have this huge blacklist, please don't state other.

your argument is invalid - in mine blacklist i have like 100+ ppl blacklisted just for not activating games won on SG / regofting. And I am lazy - someone dedicated to it could easily create 500+ ppl blacklist consisting only from regofters.
And b4 you say other things about my blacklist - yeah - I BL ppl because of forums, but not because I don't agree with their opinions, but because they are offensive. If someone will comment "I don't agree with you, I think that you shoud take X, Y and Z into consideration" - I will discuss with him. If someone say "GTFO kiddo, You're a fucking retard, My opinion is the only one valid, and if you don't agree you're simply retarded. I really like, how most of the times my argument is invalid, when I try to talk seriously on the SG forum. :)
Anyway, what I wanted to say is, that user made blacklist are worthless, the real bad guys of SG, like the regifters, like you mentioned, can still join every other giveaway. SG should make a blacklist itself and use that only or wouldnt it be easier to just permanently ban all the regifters and just live happily even after? :)
And its very nice, that your blacklist really contains these people, but most of the blacklists here are still just hate-lists.

Odd is a good word. His ratio is like 1 blacklisted person / day (1 year, 300+person). Daaaamn man, so many cheaters here. :)

In my eyes everyone is innocent until proven guilty. My blacklist is mostly tradescammers, impersonators, referral spammers, etc. It's not public and never will be for just this reason (people bitching about being on it because they are all 100% innocent in their own minds) and also because it's so big that there's no way I could even make it public if I wanted to. Most of the people on it aren't on Steamgifts. It's nothing personal, it's just people I cannot do trades with for whatever reason, which I do not keep track of on an account by account basis simply because it wouldn't be practical. Rest assured they were blacklisted for a good reason and not based upon a careless whim.
The good news is that I went through all the people in this thread that are bitching about being blacklisted and they aren't on mine. Like I said, it's reserved for the worst of the worst. However one of the people mentioned in this thread is blacklisted even though he's a supposedly one of the "nice people" because... he's not. He's really not a nice person by any stretch of the imagination even though at every chance he gets he'll go out of his way and do everything in his power to convince you that he's the nicest and most innocent person on the planet.
TLDNR: Blacklists can be a time-saving device as long as they are fair and properly maintained.

That's definitely an interesting look on this all, and I agree with you. If someone scammed me or did something ridiculously heartless or dickish to me or someone else they would go straight to my blacklist. I would never blacklist someone just because they said something mean to me one time.
I am on the OP's blacklist for whatever reason, and if his reasons are really justifiable as you stated I would not want to receive a gift from him either way.

I am also on his blacklist, and have never received specific hate from anyone (bar 3 people who are wonderful at holding grudges).
