I always thought it was strange that they did that. That game would definitely have made it through Greenlight on its own. Maybe they just wanted to use a big giveaway to build hype?

(Bought "The Gate of Firmament" on Steam a few sales ago too, didn't expect to see that bundled, and of course didn't get around to playing it -- but at least that was quite a while ago ;>)

Yes. 軒轅劍外傳穹之扉(The Gate of Firmament) and 仙劍奇俠傳六 (Chinese Paladin：Sword and Fairy 6) are excellent RPGs that are the latest releases of two major mainstream Chinese video game series. Both are very long story-focused games with many characters.

How's the English translation, though? I've heard it's pretty bad and almost machine translated at times.

It's pretty decent, with some occasional grammatical oddities and certain weird small mistakes in the UI (capitalization of character names during combat for Sword and Fairy 6, field skill names for characters in the Gate of Firmament) (and the subtitles for the opening cinematic for Sword and Fairy 6...just what happened there?). There should be no problem for you to follow the main story of either game, but certain side quests (such as the one where you answer questions about Shang era wine drinking vessels and traditions) and other elements (puzzle treasure boxes in the Gate of Firmament-the Chinese version has really clever word puzzles based on knowledge of the Chinese language and culture, whereas the English version heavily watered it down into absurdly easy fill in the blank questions) (the main story questline titles in the Chinese version of Sword and Fairy 6 all combine together to form an original poem that has a perfect structure and represents the game's overall story and themes perfectly-the English version's quest titles don't combine like that) (wordplay, puns, references, etc) haven't been translated as well as they could have been.

It’s not technically of the “wuxia” genre, but it’s the best Chinese RPG available in English. For a wuxia game, Tale of Wuxia is a good bet.

I used to play Seal Of Evil and another old one roughly named "Tale of the prince" of something like that… I dont quite remember the name unfortunately. Prince of Qin! That was it, oldie but goldie.

Thank you for the chart Lilly! Two things are bothering me tough. First, every game published by the Chinese company SOFTSTAR need an online connection to save the game (yes it's a bother in 2018!). Second, the game by Kemco Dragon Sinker (it's a fairly decent game) is free on mobile....Could have been better (and cheaper) but the weeb i am will buy it ha!
