yeah is markdown for italics so anything between two asterisks will get italicized. Use \ (escape sequence) character before to make it show.

Eg. https://www*humblebundle*com/?gift=tVAcZZfUUa6aPFev

EDIT : That used to work in other forums. Seems to me that SteamGifts has a different form of markdown. It is just replacing the escape sequence with a blank space.
