Yup its pretty powerful. HDD will be relatively slow comparred with a ssd. You may want to consider one for improved performance. If you are looking to cut costs for ssd then you may want to reduce ram. 32gb is probably a bit too much even for gaming...

I know, but im assuming the OP wants the laptop to last a couple years in which 8gb ram will be less. He will probably want something more that 8gb but less that 32gb unless he is video editing or doing memory intensive things.

16GB is preferable for gaming, some really high-end games like Planetary Annihilation needs it for all the computations, as well as lasting for a long time.

I think a GTX 880M SLI would be a lot better.

Yup id suggest a cooling pad or a table :). Either way you'd be plugged up somewhere because battery life will be terrible.
