I've literally just read a three words combo in a description of a game: a hardcore multiplayer shooter. Still, these words are not the worst: I'm often tempted to blacklist GA creators (as stupid as this sounds) when I see the word "hentai". I mean, it's not ok to spread this shit.

Haha, I'm pretty sure we were looking at the same game ;D

hardcore multiplayer shooter

I find it difficult to come up with a less descriptive description.

Indie action adventure? :D

Not even close. Not all indie games are adventure games, and of those that are, not all of them are action. Compare that to the redundancy that is "hardcore multiplayer shooter." All hardcore shooters are multiplayer, almost all multiplayer shooters are hardcore, and about half of all hardcore multiplayer games are shooters. In fact, if a game is a shooter, it is most likely both multiplayer and hardcore. The description may as well have read "just another shooter."

I was thinking more in store selection than "identity" of the game, as action and adventure as tags very-very often go hand in hand, and indie is one of the most useless umbrella terms. It gives info, while it gives almost no info, but on an even wider range.

Steam has 6647 game results for action adventure indie (Though it seems that indie is just ignored, shows Borderlands 3 and FF XII too) , and "only" 805 for multiplayer shooter.
If something is just one out of thousands results, that's also "just another thing", while we don't even know what genre that game is. Store literally lists Path of the Exile, Terraria, Trine 4, Ori and the Blind Forest, Ultimate Chicken Horse and Getting Over It on the same page, and they are quite different.

I only see giveaways for games on my wishlist because I browse this list exclusively. Still, I have a list of things I hide on Steam itself. Any game with the following tag(s) will be "ignored" by me on Steam.

Manager (rare exceptions)
Multiplayer Only (very rare exceptions)
Platformer (almost no exceptions)
MMO (I already own enough MMO's to last me a lifetime)
Clicker
Hidden Object
Bullet Hell
Meme
RPG Maker
Shmup
Card Collecting
Movie
Yuri
Otome
Digital Homicide
Anything with "poop" and similarly (un)funny things in the title (i.e. games that pretend to be funny but are simply inane)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

At what point does a wishlist simply become a normal list? You clearly have thousands of entries in your "wishlist."

Thousands??? No. Hundreds, yes. A large number of those are DLC's, so an accurate count would require effort I am not willing to make. More to the point, those titles rarely show up in giveaways. The above link usually results in fewer than twenty giveaways. On those occasions when one of my wishlisted games is part of an HB bundle dump, I may see thirty of the same title.

what the hell is digital homicide?

also i totally agree with browsing wishlist exclusively. it's basically a list of games you know you want to win/play and ignores all the bullshit. enter all the things. sometimes recommended will show me something i didn't know i wanted, though steam's discovery queue is pretty good for that as well.

Digital Homicide was a developer found on Steam. They became something of a meme for putting out "shovelware," banning those who dared to leave negative reviews, and suing various people because they didn't like their opinions. Eventually, it became so bad that Valve removed them from Steam. You may read something about it, here.

Furries with sex content. It went strictly to hide. Then I ignore VR and I am not really fan of PvP or cooperation games, so I am explorer and need my time to loot everything and climb on every wall to make sure there is nothing hiddcen.

sex games always, and anime 99% of the time. not much of an anime fan, don't judge me. though i do have some anime-ish games i very much enjoy. disgaea and the .hack series are the two that come to mind.
i have esgst show me a color-coded ratings tag under each game title, so if i see red (set to 0-39%), that's an insta-hide.
shovelware.. sometimes you can just tell.
also i like to hide cheap games like in the $1-2, sometimes $3 range, despite how good the game is. i figure if i really want it then i can just buy it, especially if i can catch it on sale. i'd rather let someone else win it.

to be honest though, these are practices i hardly follow anymore since i almost exclusively enter games i've wishlisted. every now and then i'll venture on over to recommended, or maybe even new if i feel like it. i've found some decent games i hadn't heard of in the recommended section. the most recent one that comes to mind is curse of the dead gods. i entered/wishlisted and of course didn't win, but shortly after that i ended up buying it during a sale.

Golf, race, sport, NBA, NHL, tenis, mosaic, mahjong, maze,, wrestling, racing, WWE, solitaire, cricket, ball(this one I'm carfull, but most games with this word dont interest me)... I only hide games for a reason...(cant tell you) But it's not because I don't want to see them, because I browse only my wishlist.
Anyway, basicly, everything that's sports related, maze, and "normal" playing cards
