Oh god, this cancer spreads here too...
The old drop system was trash. Everyone got commons or other worthless stuff, and maybe, if you get lucky, you could get a 20 cent announcer. Woo hoo!
Now, Valve introduced a new system, removing the single item drops and adding full sets and chests to the drop list. Now, this would screw the market up if they would be given as often as the commons, so the drop rate is lowered. Now, the sets can actually give you profit if you happen to receive one. I, as a Dota player myself, think that this is great. I've never said to myself ''woohoo, another one of these ugly bracers! i love valve!'' before. Now, that you can get full sets and even Arcanas, I'm quite happy.
TL:DR worthless stuff replaced with sets, drop rarity increased so market won't get screwed

newb here and from what i read about the old drop system and the new one i prefer the new one but i heard some people played over 100 matches without any drops and without seeing anybody else get any drops? what has been your experience with the new system. how much time does it usually take between drops?

New system is a good idea but at the moment getting 0 drops from 100 hours of playing does not help it thrive .
