Well, if he does buy KF, I would suggest not to spend money on the DLC's. At least not on the skins. I do like the flareguns though, but that is pretty much the only thing of the DLC's I am fond of.

Killing Floor, hands down.

I personally got sick with L4D even before the sequel was released. But I'm yet to grow bored with Killing Floor years since I first tried it.

Why not both?

Killing Floor has a lot more to offer and still gets new content updates regularly.

Thinking about getting Sleeping Dogs, is it any good?

yes. Sleeping Dogs is great.

Anyway on topic: I liked both. Spend the most time with L4D2. I do like L4D2 better.

KF u can trade for cheap, L4D2 you prolly won't have the chance to get this cheap for a long time, unless you get a coupon.

I have both. KF is better.

I think both is really good, KF is about surviving the waves, L4D is about getting from A to B while not getting killed. I think both is doing a pretty good job in what they want to offer.

this^ +L4D2 has nice single player mode, KF is straight multi player. just buy both, you can't predict which one will be in your style ;)

straight multiplayer? well, some people say it's easier in multiplayer, which isn't true at all, the ''monsters'' are weaker.

I mean that you can play L4D2 in single and have some fun, but KF in single is dull as hell.

dull as in slow? Just try hell on earth and then come back at me.

L4D2. It's fun in singleplayer and has some great multiplayermodes. KF is just dull. You just have to survive waves of zombies and they can come from literally everywhere.

Killing Floor: Fight waves of enemies.
Left 4 Dead: Go to point A to point B while killing zombies.

I own both and I suggest L4D2, feels more polished, more balanced, DLCs are free and, alot of game modes and user-created game modes too (mutations).

If you can afford it buy both. Together they cost 9.5$ right now, which isn't much. Don't even think about buying any of the crappy DLC for KF, it's not worth it.

If you can only afford one then watch a few Let's Plays and decide for yourself. I enjoy both, sometimes I play mostly KF, then I play mostly L4D2 for a while. Both are great, both have a very high replay value since they're multiplayer games that never get old.
