Looking into them some.

If anyone has ever done one, about how much can you hope to get per account per week assuming 10 drops per week average?

Sounds like an interesting concept. I'm assuming you need to make a purchase to unlock good drops?

I think all you need is a premium account to access most stuff. The free accounts are limited though in what drops they can get.

free accounts get untradable items, so they are worthless.

i don't know if it's still possible but you could buy the giftapul for 0.1 $ so you get the premium account instead of spending 1 $ and more

I thought you could purchase a Tod and then resell it?

I didn't got into it, but i did read & watch some Youtube videos at a point and as far as i understood Valve have done pretty huge improvements to prevent people from doing this.
I could be as wrong tho. ( :

Trust me, would rather go a different route, but as it stands, I am broke as crap and this site and tremor make up 95% of my games and perktv makes up the majority of my spending money.

From what I have heard, even if you busted your butt, the most any could actually average typically still worked out to just at minimum wage. Most wouldn't even make that. You had to be very picky at what jobs you took and be very quick at doing them.

Yep, but that doesn't sound any worse to me than paying for power for a PC idling games at a few cents per day. :D

Yeah, but was looking into it because my PC is strong enough I could have expanded it to multiple instances of Steam to get more. But overall, even if I expanded it, still wouldn't be worth it.

i gave up months ago since valve started to make idling more complicated, and honestly the amount of stuff you could get is not worth the time invested...

csgo is way simpler and items are more expensive.

Planning on going to the CS:GO after I max out the TF2 for the week on this account. Starting with just what I got, trying to figure out what I can expect if I pushed it.

TF2 market has gone to crap long time ago, you better off trying to farm in cs go

Do keep in mind however that its even harder to idle in that game

Trying to read up on it, but not much I have found so far, still looking.

Mainly just wondering what I can pull in in a week of drops from each game on average

To give you a quick calculations

1 tf2 crate key is about: 16 ref, give or take

On average there is a limit of how many drops you can get weekly, so far I counted like max 5 drops from idling

You need 3 items to craft a level one ref metal and i wouldnt be surprised if you need level 3 ref to even consider it trading for crate keys

I think you can do the math

2 weapons make a scrap, 3 scrap make a reclaimed, 3 reclaimed make a refined. So 18 weapons for 1 ref.

But I doubt the common weapon drops are what people are after. Would be the rarer drops like hats and other cosmetics that would be the bread and butter.

4 or 5 drop a week , scrap is 2 weapons destroyed that is 0.03 $, a ref is 0.15 $ and its 9 scrap or 18 weapons , a drop every hours or so

So overall, probably less than a dollar per week with about 10 hours invested into it checking every hour.

it's not worth the time i stoppped doing it, instead i buy the rebated game that is 95%-99% off and i farm the card, its give alot more money and depending how many game you have you can get up to 12-15 game for an average of 0.12 to 0.3 $ each

Oh yeah, been fighting the VA over nerve damage in my spine for 3 years now. Those bastards are trying their best to leave me for homeless or dead.

They are fighting me, their own doctors, the MRI their doctors took, the paperwork from the surgeon they sent me to, their own assessment findings and now a lawyer and STILL trying to fight me.

btw if you dont mind me asking: how did you ended up with the nerve damage? i mean was it caused by an accident or something else?

Joined the military, got hurt one the way in in one of the combatives classes. Got hurt on a Saturday morning but wasn't allowed to see a doctor till Sunday only to have him misdiagnose a popped disc at the base of the spine pinching a nerve as a pulled muscle and then lied on his paperwork so no one would check after him which I didn't find out about till later. Was told it would a pulled severely pulled muscle that would take a month and a half to heal and it wouldn't heal while I was training and all that crap. Ended up asking to get ELSed to go home to heal rather than sit on the sideline, watching my whole platoon graduate and waiting for another month and then starting over and all. Should have figured something was up when the doctor never recommended or signed off on con-leave instead.

Long story short, got home and instead of healing it continued to get worse but thanks to the doctor who treated me, no one was willing to even look at me because his paperwork, he didn't just omit my symptoms on the paperwork, he stated in writing that I didn't even have them. Wasn't till after over a year and a half later when t had gotten so bad that my right leg was going limp and giving out that they finally were forced to look at which point it had set for too long and the damage had became permanent.

Joined the military March 2012 got sent home to heal May 2012, started trying to get looked at again around September 2012 when it still hadn't healed, pain shot down my leg which started going out around July 2013, doctors still refused and delayed looking at me till January 2014 at which they actually started trying to help when they found out I was telling the truth but had already sat untreated for too long. Took them till January 2015 for surgery.

Overall prognosis from the doctors, I will be in pain till the day I die and my right leg will always give me major issues and there is nothing anyone can do about it at this point. And the Department of Veteran Affairs is still trying to fight the doctors who actually helped me trying to keep from completely retiring me even though they say I will probably never be able to hold down a long term job again according to the VA doctors while the surgeon they sent me looked like he was constipated trying to tell me what to expect in the long term using the most indefinite descriptions possible which boiled down to, "Whatever you have at the end of 18 months is about all you will ever have as far as recovery goes"

Edit: Basically got hurt on the way in in Basic training and my treating doctor managed to turn what would have been a 1 hour surgery and a 1-3 month recovery time into permanent nerve damage trying to avoid looking at me and throwing off his patient count for that day.

Normally idling is TF2 is pointless as the profits are minimal. However, waiting for passes for better drops might be an idea. Recently, there was such thing giving you access to drops of 2 unique cases. Although the pass costed 2€, I got 10€ profit from selling cases on the market.
