Russians speak english like yoda because in russian language you can say words in almost any order, and it still will be logical and correct. And its quite difficult to change your speaking mode on the fly. xD

It makes no sense logistically (Steam adding people and messaging them one by one!?) and the Engrish is laughably awful. Does this scam actually fool anyone?

They don't even need to be stupid (thou there probably are cases when the cause is pure stupidity), just inexperienced with addition of not being very good in English. Everybody was new on internet once.
