It does suck. I'm going to keep idling the game everyday for card drops. I'm at level 600. It seem the exp is capped at 200.

just found out before the reset, that you can join a friend as long as your record is equal or higher +10 than the current level your friends are in. and now we get this stuff, not like.

Valve don't like when communities (reddit mostly, but also steambd it seems this time) works together to do what they are supposed to do: reach the highest level. Same thing happened for the previous event, they added rewards for second and third place to be sure that what the communities had planned to do won't work anymore. Make sense for the previous event, because there was money involved (buying gems in the market = $$ for gaben), but not this time, so it's pretty stupid.

Indeed, has no sense. If users care enough to have a higher level badge, why impede it? It has zero difference for them, for the mechanics to unlock the discounts and for the rest of users, who could do the same. So the decision the only thing it does is piss the ones who care on that badge.

Exactly, they should implement an option to join a random lobby in progress, below or equal to the highest level reached, to keep the lobbies populated and stable otherwise is going to be an enormous mess.

Are you joining a friend's game? That's a card.
Are you playing through level 10? That's a card.
If you're just joining a random game and then leaving, you do get a card for joining a game that day but that's it.
Cards are not based on levels.

I have never, ever got a card for passing level 10. And I have done it while being active in the game at least six times so far. I got 3 cards in total for joining a new game, and none for joining an existing one.

So I guess Steam support must have been in charge of testing, and quality control. Of course the people behind this also listed you needed level five to get cards for the first couple of days, when we need level eight to get cards in these events, and have needed level eight for the last few, or more events now. Yep, sounds like it really was the Steam support staff in charge of that stuff.

It doesn't really matter since the card drops don't work properly.
Some people report that to get a card you need to start a new game, join a game and reach level 10 and you should get 1 card for each of these actions.
Today I didn't get any card for any of those actions so I really have no idea how this is supposed to work.

Plus they say they get a card for joining a friend's game afterwards, that doesn't work for me. The first two things drop a card each though.

Hmm I stayed in the same game until it was done at lvl 1600+ ... and got two cards when a new game started today. Not sure if it works it's upposed to work like that, if I could have gotten more cards (one more most likely) if I'd switched between games.

It's dumb, so is the number of clicks milestones, heck, the whole "game" is rather dumb, as with no failure state, it's not even really a game. Got in a room that went to level 2380 something the other day, but the badge capped out at 200 XP after level 500 or so, anything more than that is just pointless epeen over something you yourself had very little to do with, which I don't care about.
I'm just in it for the cards now that I have my 200 XP. Then adding to the list of dumb, I can never seem to get more than two cards a day, even though it says you should be able to get three per day. Has anyone here gotten three in a day?

I mean, we have 27 magnets and 18 raining gold turned on, all ready to milk the boss and some moron decides to nuke him...

Oh heck yeah, but it does depend on the level, situation and the mood of the game.
As far as I'm concerned they can nuke the little ones as much as they want, they can do whatever except dropping napalm or that bomb that impacts the spawner.
<3 People, if you see people having magnets and gold turned on at the same time, for the love of whatever you believe in, do not use destructive abilities on the spawner/boss. <3

It's better not to use the abilities than to ruin other people's efforts.
45 of us (and that's only counting magnets and rains, not even counting the other people who understood what was going on and have not ruined the game) were teamed up to accomplish something and one person decides he knows better and wastes all our abilities?
Do you get the point? Make sure you know what's going on before acting, that's all I'm saying.

Okay, nuking a boss is bad, because of all the lost cash, but with spawners I'd say if they wanna nuke them out, so we all can move to the next level faster and to the next boss, that's fine with me. Also, it's often lagging so much, that you use an ability and it only gets carried out the next level, so it's possible to nuke a boss even if you don't want to.

Seems that way, since there's people in the thousands who still have no more than 200 xp from the badge. I think after level 500 it gives you 200 xp, at least that's what happened for me.

Now you can't join a game that started more than 10 minutes ago. So you either have to start all over again or join a friend in pretty low level lobby.
