and I know for a fact that im the only gamer in that group, its for undergrad stuff, cant remember all the details

but for some reason, the questions and answers available bothered me.
I thought id share it here to give some real gamers sample going for it

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfnyrLEx-E3ESnOayuMtcXNZHoKHyxk_IogNavHvZ9IRplwZA/viewform?usp=sf_link

and as always, its just an excuse to giveaway some "RPG"
"MP" why i never get cool codes? 2R8

Two words - sex sells

Put women without clothes in the game, give her huge private parts and you've got yourself a selling game.
Okay - I get that its not as black and white. But I dont doubt this works to certain degree.

This is why all those "streamers" get so much donations from pathetic sad virgins. They want attention from women and they somehow have some kind of false hope I suppose. Same goes for games. The fact that SG is site for giving games to others for free already states that most people here will have different mindset then the general gamer, meaning - just because we are not thirsty loosers it doesnt mean theres a huge part of community that is exactly that

I wont deny it works on me as well. Beautiful actress in a movie ? I might overlook quality of the movie. Game ? Same

Overall - I dont really find it annoying or offending. But I do think it is a bit too much. As in example from survey - I think thats too much, but I just dont play such games as I dont like them.

Just as an example - Nier Automata. I dont doubt its a great game on its own (Havent played it). But what has it become ? Slobbering virgins screenshoting an androids overly sexualized ass and doing weird stuff at home. I understand rule 34 exists, but cmooon

hmm. i mean you are not wrong but, why are you angry about it?
sure sex sells. but the endless nudity in recent TV shows did not make a good show. you rate the product on its content, the sex is just marketing.
same with streamers, they market themself as they see fit. if you enjoy the content you will stay. male or female

Nier Automata did great as a product, but also Tomb Raider and Zero Dawn. because they were good products regardless of the female clothing

Sorry if I come off angry. I'm not ;)
I use descriptive language if I can and dont try to hide behind euphemisms to shield someones feelings.

Out of those I've only played Tomb Raider - The game was great, but for me, as a guy, having sexy protagonist in tight clothes just gives another aspect what to like. But I dont think that really falls under sexualizing characters. Havent seen much about Zero Dawn as well. But Nier Automata has been sexualized as much as it can be.

Overall I actually dont think its such a big problem in gaming industry. I think its more like an easy target for feminazis because they cant touch music industry and hollywood. Those two are unfathomably sexist and sexualize women.

I mentioned a game that has been overly sexualized in my opinion. As a counter example - saints row 4. Skimpy outfits and huge private parts for women. Well - same for men, if you want you can create a men who walks around in thong and has huge thing.

PS. Of course streamers can market themselves how they want and same goes for movies, games, music. But my point is - that targets that specific crowd I called "thirsty loosers" and "slobbering virgins". But I think this falls in the same category as pornography. It messes with your mind and creates unrealistic image of women. And then we have the rise of incels and sexist men.

As many people before me, I find many questions wrongly worded and lacking answering options.

Also, the example picture is a really poor choice to illustrate the alleged "sexualization", as the character depicted is loosely based on Ancient Greek mythology and, as we know from artworks of that time (seen on vases and other artifacts), mythic Greek heroes often fought without any clothes on. They wore helmets and shields but nothing else. Women were also quite often depicted with bare breasts and lightly clothed.

I dont think its the worst offender even with established lore (MGS has crazy shit)
and even if there were no historical background to base it of
its an over the top game and Genre in general, with hypersexual themes all over the place
i just feel its like calling out porn for having too much nudity XD

Yeah, seems the survey is closed. I wonder if it always was going to close at that time or was because of a sudden influx of people.
