I just tried it, and it works rather well. Logging into Steam can be a bit fiddly on the phone, because you have to show and hide the on-screen keyboard multiple times. But aside from that it ran nicely (I tested Rise of the Tomb Raider). Definitely felt like 30fps, though. Not sure if 60fps is possible. Haven't looked at the settings yet. But yeah, it's nice they found a way to do it without the the AppStore.

EDIT: One big negative aspect: Games seem to be locked to the language your phone is set to. Why the hell do games do this? I like my phone in German, but want to play in English. How is this not possible? Same thing with Gears of War 4 and 5 on the Microsoft store. Had to change the Windows language in order to play. It's baffling to me how anyone thought this is a good idea.

Do you game on mobile devices?

I typed quite a bit of nonsense here. I wanted to make a bit of a joke and see how many characters I can actually write as a poll answer. I typed stuff about gaming, how I experienced it in the 90s, how it changed since then. How mobile games compare to the "true" experience on PC and consoles. And a lot more. I typed over 2500 characters, only to then get the answer I was looking for - only 500 characters allowed. Oh well, 5 minutes of my life wasted... ;)

Well, not everyone's gifted with multilingual skills...

Nobody is advertising for taking away the localization, but there should always be an option to choose the language. On DVDs and Blurays that has been a mandatory feature for decades, but in games the standards vary by publisher, plattform and time-periode.. and its really anoying since the data for different languages is always there and all thats needed is a switch in the options menu or anything similar. Its not uncommon for people to consume media in its original language and in Germany there are many people who prefer games, movies, series etc. in english.

Occasionally use it when I'm too lazy to turn on my pc, or right before bed. I find there's usually no wait-time if I use it at night.

I might understand a casual game, but not especially when you don't have joysticks, you could enjoy something that typically would require a mouse or controller especially when you got a good rig at home, and a much bigger screen.

Sure, for me it also only makes sense with a gamepad. Would not play any halfway complex game with touch controls. Even platformers are usually horrible with touch. But with a controller it's actually pretty cool. I had to travel a little bit last week and played CastleVania SotN with iPhone + XBox Controller on the train. It was actually pretty nice.

Regarding streaming: I personally don't even have that much interest in it (certainly not at home, as you said). I would like to use it on the go, but on the go usually means bus or train for me, which means highly varying signal quality. It's not fun if you lose signal inbetween stations every time. Not sure what the status is with wireless LAN on the train. Never tried it. Maybe I'll give it a go today if it's available.

Nevertheless, I think those streaming services are very interesting from a technical standpoint and I am happy to try them all out.
