Since there has been no written material, I am linking directly to my blog. Looking forward to Diablo 3 and hoping to have enough money to buy it, the game looks fantastic!

I hear that the developers have played Median XL and are rather inspired by it. It'll be interesting to see how they build upon the mechanics from Median.

When he says something about "scarier monsters", is he talking about different content for different difficulties? I surely hope a town in Normal mode isn't the same as a town in Hell mode.

I believe the cities are the same, as in Diablo II. Just the monsters are harder/maybe some new and different ones too.

Are people still excited for Diablo III? I thought the "always on" internet thing kinda sucked most peoples enthusiasm from it. That and the fact Mods are “expressly prohibited” and "Items in the auction house are bought and sold for real-life money". Although this negativity is coming from someone who has never liked Blizzard or their games so im rather slightly biased.

Blizzard never supported any mods for their games, but there's still a lot of them floating around. Blizzard actually played a mod of Diablo 2 and liked it; too bad that didn't chance their minds. From the modding community I hear that they're still going to try and mod D3, but like every new release it's going to be an uphill walk.

As for the "always on the internet" they pulled the same thing for Starcraft 2. Auction houses are optional as well, and it's not a huge leap since in Diablo 2 there were 3rd party sites selling items.

To add negativity as well, Blizzard did ruin some parts of the Starcraft series by releasing SC2. I surely hope the same isn't for D3.

I really don't see what's so bad about the "always on" part... Well, unless you have an unstable connection or a bandwidth limit. Otherwise, there is really no difference, at least to me.
As for auction house - it's not really optional when others are buying stuff in it. I really hate when people say that something is optional only because there is a possibility not to use it. They don't look at the fact that others will use it to get ahead. It's the same as in an F2P game say "shop items are optional", but those who pay for them, can beat you up at half-way max level. But still - I agree that there were those 3rd party sites. The difference is that it will now be more popular and more widely used. That is the part I don't like, but I'm looking forward in making real-life money if I will have money to buy the game.
