I propose that on every giveaway, a link to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ appear.

I am sure we can all agree that everyone should be sure they can run a game before they enter a giveaway for it.

In addition, it may be nice to link to http://www.steamgamesales.com/ price history of the item, and even it's reviews.

You could just list the system requirements that are shown on steam, along with one of these fancy links:
steam://checksysreqs/55110/

That particular link is for Red Faction: Armageddon. When you click it, your steam client will tell you if your computer meets the minimum system requirements or not. I never understood why this feature exists, yet is never used on the Steam website anywhere.

How about people just google cyri, or google the products specs.

this would just be more convenient for the person?

Because obviously a lot of people aren't, there are people just entering everything, regardless of what system or games they have.

At least having this sort of tool on hand, readily available, we can help to encourage people to make educated choices.

thats true it would help reduce the number of people just entering every single giveaway

No it wouldn't.

And just how inconvenient is it to open a new tab and look it up yourself? It is an unnecessary thing to do on this site, and the admins time is better spent working on real issues instead of a most trivial matter of inconvenience.

It's my opinion, just like yours. It's not hard to do on your own, so theres no point in making that change, at least when there's other, more important ones to be made first.

I doubt the people who are entering every giveaway are going to care if their system runs it or not. They enter every one not knowing whether they'll even like the game or not, some enter and already have the game, so I doubt them not being able to play it will dissuade them.

As for everyone else, I don't know if it'd be hard to implement this sort of thing, but there's really no point. It's not hard to open a new tab, and it'd only be the teeny tiniest bit more convenient if there was a link.

Not to mention that CYRI doesn't have hard links. You cannot directly link somebody to a certain game on there. You have to go to the main page and select your game from the list, or type it in yourself. Once you do this and it analyses your computer against the game specs, the link is "http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/analysis.aspx" , no matter what game you choose.

I added more information to my giveaway earlier. Link to the req specs, trailer for the game, and reviews. The contributor will be able to do this no problem.
