Are MOBAs still popular or did they peter out when battle royale games became popular?

Lol, dota, mobile legends and Smite are still extremely popular to this day, however there is no place for any new one (Brawl Stars was a suprising exception)

Heroes of the Storm has been ramping up since the cancellation of esports. Why? No one knows exactly, but what you get in HOTS you can't get it on any other MOBAs. Very easy to learn, extremely hard to master.

Also, HOTS is the least toxic of all of them.

MOBA's and BR games are still the most played games, unfortunate.

I can relate. Im russian but ive been living since my childhood somewhere else and almost forgot russian , but when i did start playing CSGO back in 2014 i re-learned all the words. DOTA and CSGO is a good way to learn russian and im not even joking.

cheers.

Also theres netflix anime (not classic style anime, you dont have to know anything about game to watch show) its called Dota Dragon's Blood. Its pretty good, most people who watched it like it! I suggest checking it out, and its book 1, so we should get more as its doing good in many countries by popularity.

And yeah, first game got community tutorial, then offical tutorial that integrated community into offical one so its not wasted, there will be new hero and balance patch in like week or so, pretty good month for Dota.

I'm not into MOBA type games, simply don't like them. But reading this makes me really happy for those that do, or anyone who has ever contemplated getting into it. If even half of what they claim will (eventually at least) work as intended it will have a huge impact on new players and how game availability will open up for them. Just bloody awesome.
And who knows, many times ''where Valve goes, others follow''... DOTA isn't the only game out there that could do with a set of tools like this, eh?
