Difficult because in my heart i love(d) my country and normally i would have gotten homesick, now i get sick of how it goes.
I only want to leave the country due our politics and the destruction they make but which country doesn't by now? More and more people start to protest against their governments.
We don't because we are lazy although people are starting now because last week a 17 year old girl got killed by a refugee, there is femicide (they never say what culture) and women getting sexually harassed too much here, even when a girl just takes a walk. But the big elephant in the room as to who, we can't mention.
Spain. Hungary, Sweden have something to me (also financially), but i am also not keen in learning a new language anymore.
Belgium does have some things better, i can still speak dutch but apparantly it's going the same way our country is.
Or some country they speak english like the US or Uk. Or maybe Antartica or Easter Island, it's quiet there. :p
I am single so i am not bound to anyone and free to go, but in ways i think it helps to also do this with someone else.
I am alone but atleast when i do groceries etc it's in my own language, if you are alone and you can't even understand others i think that can also be scary (finances aside).
This is a song from the 80''s and they made their own very weird translated version which isnt near the original dutch text, but the lyrics were also about how scary our own country was becoming and how many countries were no option and how they doubted Belgium. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ful2_IDDCM&ab_channel=NummyMuffin

Those are some difficult issues to run away from. As you said a lot of countries are moving in a similar direction right now.
Just fleeing shitty weather would be much easier. ;)
While moving away is less difficult when you are alone and unbound, settling down in a foreign country w/o knowing anyone there might be a lot harder. As you eluded to not speaking their language (except for English) will definitely not be helping the situation. English only gets you so far. You might end up feeling like the refugees coming to your country now.
I guess your best option is to stick it out and hope it gets better? Or wait for the first flight to Pluto. 🚀 😏
Hang in there, Lugum. 🤗

The difference would be that i respect women and the country i would live in. ;)
I could maybe learn german/french as dutch all come from the same language.
Swedish and any scandinavian language just all sound like knackebrod. :p Some would say dutch is actually a difficult language to learn though.
But politics aside, financially i can't go anywhere and unless i win big in a lottery or meet someone with a good job nothing will change. But even if i would win 1 million (common price to win) i could barely even make it to my pension here, because everything is so expensive, let alone find a house to buy (450000 on average) as there is a shortage.
Reallistically you would need atleast to win 2 million to just be able to overbid on already expensive houses and maintain your daily costs for another 40-50 years orso.
In short money doesn't buy you happyness, but not having any for sure doesn't make anyone happy either.
Well or mars.
Thanks.

One gift from a dear steam friend was this: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1307960/Quartet/ Some claim it to be the best rpg of this year, and it's very casual, no random encounters, no difficult grinding or bosses, 30-40+ hours, it's just chill enough.
The previous game Shadows of Adam https://store.steampowered.com/app/506510/Shadows_of_Adam/ i can also really recommend, it's similar but a bit shorter at 15 hours and less characters.
