Potato lost this poll. I think that means something, I am still thinking about what :)

Answersssss!!:

Q1: FLCL/Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri. The steam iron made reference to *SPOILER ALERT* at the end of the series. This anime is ~~a bit~~ demential.
Q2: Mushishi. That invisible bugs are called Mushi.
Q3: Beck. The song is played by the band in the anime (Beck is the name of the band). The ending is this one.
Q4: Princess Mononoke. They are kodamas, and the director is Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli).
Q5: Black & White. Best known as Tekkonkinkreet. The director is Michael Arias.
Q6: Perfect Blue. Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan) bought the American filming rights to Satoshi Kon's movie. Sadly Satoshi Kon passed out 5 years ago. He was only 46.
Q7: Space Brothers. The opening song is from Unicorn, and it is called Feel so Moon. The anime is about two brothers that want to be astronauts.
Q8: Natsume's Book of Friends. Best known as Natsume Yuujinchou. The main character can see yokais, and his "pet" is this one.

Confused by the hint, is it completely unrelated? Fairly sure I recognise the anime in the pic but variations on the name didn't work. x(

Oh well. Feeling kinda stupid for not getting 2 before the hint, definitely was one of my favourites. Still got the books. :D

Bump for solved. Never heard of Q8.. Never saw Q4. Wasn't as difficult as I initially feared. Was fun, thanks. Need to watch Q6, but have been postponing it forever :D

finally i got it
really enjoyed this puzzle
and yes i knew that i wouldnt be able to enter in the end as i currently dont have the money for giveaways or even to buy games

Ah I'm just happy to have figured the answers now. :)
Given me a couple of things to check out if I get some spare time too. Q8 actually sounds very interesting. Likewise also Q6 but mostly because I've watched other stuff by the same guy and enjoyed them very much. Far from empty handed. >_<
