OH NO ITS A PUZZLE COMMENT !!
There were 6 Penalators who tried to amass the wealth enough for 3 Ero Langas. Its was hardly a difficult task as they possessed the most important item in the region, the Derko Rentu. They set out to sell the item but were ambushed by the Quenn of TrokoRana. They were all killed at the same place as the Intre Inken the enternal bard of the 7 counties of Rutentor which was ruled by 3 different factions.
Please reply if you have the redeemed the code.

I thought I was on to something, but I guess I was wrong or just not following it up in the right way.

It doesn't involve any of the easier encryption methods, but rather a very specific form of encryption and you won't give many hints (which is your full right of course), so I guess you have to wait for someone to come along who will recognize this type of encryption. It's too vague for me to research, though it feels like I've seen something similar like the line you added.

That is because it isn't a chess problem, or I'm completely off track here. :P
I know I've done very few puzzles lately, besides making my own.

I'm very familiar with them, and I have not a clue.

In the end you should find a 5-letter code that would bring you to the invite-only GA. The format is: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/XXXXX/ where X is an alpha-numberic character. Please, refer to this guide to learn more about SG puzzles.

I'm also surprised not to see more of the "usual suspects" to solve this puzzle. Maybe not interested in these gifts?
It's also possible that the encryption method is not as well known as you supposed.

I'm on it but I'll focus more on it this week end since week are a bit rough actually. Looking of the text like that I've no real idea of the encryption method. I tried some things that didn't worked. I already on the 2 games but there is something more important! This puzzle might be important in case you want to participate in the next big Puzzlemania event. That's enough motivation.

It's probably not as well known as he thinks or we're just not seeing it for what it is supposed to be.

It's well known cipher which has 2 common types, but ercalote uses only 1 of them. This cipher ain't just encoding message but also usually hides message itself. 4xmpl, it hides 2 GAs in 2 sentences of this post.
Maybe, if you use guide that ercalote already gave you'll eventually find proper cipher (well known, 2 types, encodes&hides) and figure out how to use it.
@ercalote: I don't give any additional info, I just rephrase what you already gave, but if you want I can delete this comment.

Solution: it was a baconian code, where a vowel = A, a consonant = B. Letter 'Y' that is sometimes treated as a vowel, and sometimes as a consonant, was always treated as a vowel in this puzzle. Capitalization mattered only when it was not the first letter of the sentence.
