I don't really see much of a difference, it's not like the VAC bans are for cheating in single player, so it only affects the person using the cheat.

I'd say it's even less wrong in this case. It just decreases the odds for the rest to win the game. In the other it makes the game for someone not fun, just losing not because of skill but because the other is using a bot sounds very frustrating, and might make the person not want to play the game anymore. And I don't really play much in multiplayer, but for example if someone where to hack a game I have that I like playing so that I can't get past the first level or first section because the enemies keep killing you before you even get a chance to do anything, and there was no way to escape this hack, I would find that very annoying and would just stop playing it.

Yeah, I guess MW2 patched to latest official version must be a terrible bad, buggy and boring game knowing that there are nearly four million VAC and Game bans to date! ^ ^
