Ultimately it's your choice, but you could buy a cheaper notebook or even better a desktop computer which is cheaper with the same performance.
But maybe you could save some bucks and donate 1k to me, then I'll buy a new, good desktop computer as well and we'll play together?

So I will be acquiring a new laptop (probably next month) and these are the current specs for it
Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit
3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3920XM (8MB Cache, up to 4.1GHz Overclocked*)
8GB Dual Channel XMP DDR3 at 1866MHz
1.5TB SSD RAID 0 (3x 512GB SATA 6Gb/s SSD)
Dual 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680M - SLI® Enabled
Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 With Bluetooth 4.0
Slot-Loading Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
Its a alienware m18x (hate on alienware yatta yatta idc)
Question is are these specs do you think enough to run games on maximum settings for the next 3 or so yrs. Also what are some good accessories I should get with it
Edit:
Anyone who says get a desktop I pretty much stop listening to. I don't think you even understand the concept of a laptop
