Crisis Core and Peace Walker were my two favorites. I used to recommend Phantasy Star Portable, but PSO2 is better and (albeit a bit difficult to set up) free on PC.

God of war!in case you haven't played it yet on ps3 then you should buy it for psp! one of the greatest games that exist for sony consoles

At this point seeing as how I think Sony doesn't care..... mod it and play some SNES and what not on it too. Might as well.

Star Wars - The Force Unleashed is strangely enough my favoutite PSP game, played it so many timed. There's just so much content(new modes, skins) that I actually consider it superior to the console versions. I highly recommend it!

Also, the monster hunter series is pretty great if you can get into it, and you should try the wipeout games aswell!

I enjoyed Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep on it

My personal favorite is Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, but that's coming to Steam soon so it depends on how you want to play it.

I would recommend Ys Seven though, probably never coming to Steam and very fun. The other Legend of Heroes games are fun as well if you like turn based RPGs (and can deal with Namco's not so good localization). I'd recommend the other Ys games, but the ones released by XSEED are also on Steam and Ark of Napishtim's PSP version is pretty bad, though playable if that is the only way you can get it, I just wouldn't recommend it as a first Ys game to play.

If you didn't play it on PS1 (as Tales of Destiny II), Tales of Eternia was a lot of fun, but only released in English in Europe, so you may have to import it. The PSP is region free, so it would play just fine.

Also, don't forget about the PS1 classics in the PSN store if you don't have them via another Sony system yet. There's some gems in there like Suikoden, Legend of Dragoon, the Arc the Lad series, Xenogears etc.
