Exactly what you said, you can play to a certain amount of points. After you reach this "demo highscore" (they called it ingame like that) a pop up appears and wants you to buy the table/table-pack or to exit.
Pretty much like any F2P IOS game.
The game is Free 2 Play but i thought they have at least 1-3 free tables to play as long as you want.

I just suggest opening a Steam ticket and let them note it's misleading information and hope they will remove the game to the right section.
I was looking forward to this game, but you have to spend 9€ to play normally and that just sucks. The 2 minutes that I could play (before reaching max score for demo) was fun.
I don't think this is a free 2 play game.

The ones that are up right now are the royal tables the ones they had to pay a lot to use the likeness' of like Marvel on the Xbox 360 version there are some as low as a dollar or 1.50 and they are just as good wait for the better/cheaper tables to come out or wait for them to sale the one you want that is what I did with the Plants vs Zombies table I got it for 1.50 and love it the game its actually very good and really well done just the pricing on steam right now and the fact that you can only buy bundles and not just one table is terrible.

This is one I'll be looking out for in the June/July winter sale.
Thanks for the heads up. No free tables, though?

I'm waiting for Pinball Arcade to finally get added to Steam (I know it's already cleared Greenlight)... but the main reason is that I already have a download ticket commitment from Farsight Studios for Twilight Zone (I backed that table on Kickstarter, but they dropped support for the system I was originally wanting it for when their drive ended). Hopefully they give me a beta key for it (I've been very paitent).
They'll likely have a "Free to Try" system with a couple of tables available for free with other table packs as premium DLC.
It's a bit more "Down to earth" compared to Fx2 (as they're digitizing actual Pinball Tables instead of creating their own), but they do an excellent job with their tables & prices are reasonable (even as they have to pay licensing fees for those tables).

I read all the controversy it stirred with the F2P label they put on the game. They got quite a beating for their misunderstanding. I started to feel bad for the poor community manager who had to deal with the angry mob, it actually got to her. It got out of hand when she started getting threats. That's harsh.
I decided to checkout the demo. I actually liked the game. The physics were good and the themes of the table are cool. I had been looking for a good pinball game for years. If they discount their table bundles a bit more, i will definitely get one.

I tried the demo and bought one marvel pack to start with and i have to say: the game is amazing, im loving it. The tables are a bit expensive though, i hope they go on sale soon so i can get the whole pack.
I heard that there are more tables comming too.

I bought a lot of tables on XBLA when they were on sale, and I really like them, except the original pack with Agents, Extreme, speed machine, and one more. That pack sucks, I regreted my purchase like 15 minutes later)
All the marvel ones are pretty cool, the ms, Splosion man is good. One table, Paranormal, was free for a while and its a pretty good table too, Hopefully they'll give away one or two tables for free at some point with the pc version

I just downloaded it and i have to say... f* this!
There is not a single free Table, you can play like 2 mins till you reach the demo highscore.
So, if you are not willing to spend ~9 Euros/Table don't even bother to download the 1,1GB.
Edit: My fault, you pay ~ 9 Euros for 3-4 Tables but still..
