Didn't play Nexomon yet, wonder if it's better to wait for that game since I have it wishlisted or just get this now...
Anyone has any idea how high chance this game will get bundled?

Nexomon is rather good. Playing through it now. I have Extinction too, tried it first. Think I like the first better but I will restart Extinction after I beat Nexomon.

For some games it matters which you play first, for some it doesn't really matter, no clue how tight the story is for it, but I always rather play game 1 before game 2 and now I own neither, one day I will own them!

What's the difference between the two?

Extinction's been bundled 5 times already, according to ITAD. Of course, there's always the chance they inexplicably stop.

Also according to ITAD, the OG Nexomon hasn't been bundled at all, so you might be waiting a long time if you're holding out for that. It's matching its historical low right now ($5), and since it hit that price in 2020, it's not likely to go lower any time soon.

Thanks for the info!
Weird that 1 never got bundled while 2 got bundled so often, guess it was never in a bundle I cared for, often it says it starts with 3 games and if I only want 1 game, the price for the bundle isn't worth it.
Still hoping for game 1 to bundle or get a better discount then 50% or 1 day I might just cave... who knows.... am also surprised they don't have a combined bundle for the 2 games...

I wonder why the first game, nexomon has lower discount than this, is it worse than the first one?

Maybe just trying to get more people to buy the second game in preparation for the sequel?

In that case shouldnt they make the first game as cheaper as the second? So people can see the improvement made from the first to second. Unless they botched the second game and it is way worse than the first one, that is...

The pricing is more likely due to one already being bundled and one does not.

AFAIK people seem to like extinction but the first one can be a harder pill to swallow. I'm currently playing extinction on the deck, near the end of the game. The plot on these games are connected, so i believe the devs are probably trying to bait people into playing the prequel after playing extinction.

My overall opinion for extinction is: it's pretty good. The plot and the looks are probably the best thing the game has to offer. Gameplay is not the best, because you can easily exploit your way to victory with little effort. There aren't that many abilities for each "element". You can easily beat most battles by using a regen type ability while applying a permanent DOT and using a fast but low stamina consumption attack, essentially you will be doing mid to very high damage every turn, and heal like 25%-100% of the damage received. The higher the level your nexomon is vs enemy, the more broken it gets. I explored the game early on and got into many battles, used the same nexomon to win most battles because it unlocked a regen type ability very early, which makes winning battles extremelly easy early on.

This in the long run can be a problem as the world adjusts to your level and leveling up becomes slower and slower, the tendency to fight everything is not there like when you do early on, so that 10-20 levels gap you get early on will become smaller and smaller, so fights become hard again as you have a nexomon at lvl 60, your party is like lvl 40 and the enemies you face are lvl 50-55 while the ones roaming around in the grass are like 45-50. Of course you can grind xp and make a strong team overall, but i've solo'd most of the game thus far with the same creature. It's not even a rare one. Haven't used healing items either, nor did i use any of the special traps. Always use regular ones, unlike pokemon, the regular traps in this game work equally on all nexomon, there are some factors to increase catch rate but those do not even, i just usually low enemy health into red region and catch them in 1-3 attempts.

The animations in this game are also nothing special and can be a turn off for some people. The animations in this game while in battle, they feel like wallpaper engine animations, not that these animations are bad, just not the best for this type of game.

Hmm, that's a weird decision.

Anyway, thanks for the review. It seems some feature doesnt really interest me (gameplay being shallow and enemy adjust to your level) so i guess i'll just put it off for now. There are so many games i want that is on sale so i need to ration my budget, hahah.

I beat this game mainly for the writing. The combat system sucks and it's the most barebones thing you can imagine (makes 1st gen pokémon look like an ocean), but the characters and dialogues got some good laughs outta me.

I was certain I already owned this one, but apparently I don't. I guess I've just seen it in so many bundles that I assumed I had it already....
