No user reviews, no discussions, all-time peak of 1 player. Damn...
I hope this sale will get them at least some satisfaction (but personally I'm not buying, for reasons).

While in my experience often true, lack of reviews doesn't mean a game is necessarily bad but rather lost in the middle of too many other releases. Even truer as you can often see blatant cases of review manipulation.

This one simply doesn't attract my attention at all after checking its page (so much I've in fact inducted it in the huge list of ignored items).

The what now? Steam still has flash deals? No reviews since January seems kinda suspicious, and already a 90% off sale

even with 90% it's still a random bad game

you just can't really say its bad... they just failed at marketing it and dropped it on steam.

I think the number is 7000 wishlists is what you want before you actually release a game on steam, you need the initial wave of buyers for the algorithm to say this is worth pushing to other people... so if nobody sees the game it won't get anything(purchases/discussion/etc).

I'd have to play more to know whether it's good or bad. But it's just a niche project. A queer Ren'Py visual novel made by a few people is unlikely to get much broad attention.

When it's possible for a lot of people to make things, a lot of it won't be seen.

As Steam algorithm describes the game similar to such heavyweights as Detroit Become Human and Spiritfarer being always the risk taker I'll buy it.
Edit: according to gg.deals I'm the only one having the game in his account a collector's dream.

For me it shows as similar to Undertale, Witcher 3 and Kingdom Come 2 :D
It's probably just based on tags, I'm pretty sure the algorithm hasn't actually played it. ;-)

I'm well aware of the nonsense the algorithm spits out. At least it makes me laugh.

Understandable. I mean, imagine the gigantic backlog it must have!

Good thing algorithms have infinite lifespan. Here's hoping humanity one day ceases to exist, or at least to spawn new games, so it can catch up.

Yeah, it would be the considerate thing to do.

Seems like a pretty neat little visual novel! Looks like it has fairly positive reviews and comments on itch. The lack of reviews on steam may just be another unfortunate case of an indie game without any real marketing budget going mostly unnoticed. 90% off is wild though for a game that's only like a year old...
Might grab it while it's on sale, though I do already have a lot of visual novels on my backlog.

There's a demo on itch. Also on sale there for $1 USD, and it says it comes with a Steam key.

Here's the link again:

The itch version was released around a year ago, and it seems to be 90% off on there too.

The reason for the odd sale is that it's the developers birthday, apparently

gg.deals's newest info shows eight license holders on Steam already. What a feeding frenzy!

I'm assuming these are all the people who are signed into gg and use it to sync their library. Likely the number is in the hundreds.

Likely the number is in the hundreds.

Sincerely do hope so. GG.deals is a popular site and their numbers have some significance as a statistical sample. As now are shown 25 licenses after the sale your presumption of a few hundred sales is highly probable.

Looks interesting, and 57cents is pretty cheap. Thanks for the heads up :)
BTW, I didn't even know that flash sales were still possible, it's been quite a while since I last saw one.

Flash deals were removed from Steam sales events nearly a decade ago. But if a dev/publisher wants to do one it's their choice and Steam doesn't seem to interfere.

I don't know why but I assumed the minimum length of time for a sale was a whole weekend, aka 48hs, ever since they changed how sales worked some years ago. Guess I was wrong, or just misinterpreted whatever I read back then.
Thanks for the clarification.
