For people that are wondering why they didn't go with the clamshell design and instead made it Game Boy-esque, the reason that it's so much cheaper is not only that it removes one of the two top screens that made the 3D effect, it removes BOTH. It's actually one tall screen with plastic covering up the unused pixels, with thicker plastic on the top half so it doesn't unintentionally trigger the touch screen.

I saw IGN post this video today and didn't see anyone else relaying the news here.
What do you guys think of Nintendo doing this?
EDIT: I forgot to say what I thought -_- Anyways, I think this is a good idea on Nintendo's part because they are trying to push towards younger gamers and gain new consumers. Also, I think the new design is perfect for younger kids.
