I've heard some bad stuff about Origin, but I kinda want to play the Battlefields and Crysiseses. Should I give it a downydown or not?

If you wants Crysiseses get it, Butterfield kinda sucks if you don't have premium, and if you don't have premium don't expect to win.

Don't listen him, you can kill everyone when you first level and with out premium. With premium you have many good guns and maps, but first level guns like m16, m416, m4 are pretty good enough. And if you like game there are no problem to buy premium.

Yeah, I've played it on my NetfliXbox and the starter M16 was my favorite gun.

Most of the premium weapons are just reskins of the originals, some are even weaker :P

Origin sucks. That's it. But please download it, take your time at the store & see for yourself.

Origin is fine. It's shortcomings have nothing to do with 'spyware' or anything like that and it gets decent sales on some titles every so often. If you want to play its exclusives, do so. If you don't, then don't. Don't base your decisions on how much people hate EA though. That would be unfortunate.

Welcome to SG, EA employee! We love Origin, it's safe and non-spying soft, that every schoolboy can change your e-mail in support and get your account

Impeccable logic there, Mr. Valko. Do you juggle or do card tricks as well?

About the article, you give the same or more information to google, facebook and others, so I don't see why you should worry :p

I use Origin for a couple of games and I didn't have any issues so far, it does it's work ok.

There really isn't anything wrong with Origin to be honest. As a game manager it works many times better than Steam.

to be honest, origin is not that bad as many people say. I use origin to play crysis 3 SP and MP, both works great. But there are some hackers in crysis 3 MP indeed. BF 3 is a great MP game as well, but the origin server doesn't meet my expect. When I played BF3 online, the games was often disconnected from server and I have tried many ways but have not solved it. And I know it is a problem for some people but not for all.

Eh, try it. It's alright if the game doesn't flat out require Origin, like the first Crysis. I have BF3 and I dislike that BattleLog thing and requiring the client, played BF3 once, never did again.

I had more issues in a week with it than I had in a year with steam. Yet Battlefield 3 is a fun game and it's worth it. Just avoid the metro maps that have explosives enabled.

I would say that it's worse, for a handful of reasons (depending on where you live, games are more expensive than steam (they are here), it seem to be less stable and it will decide what language to use based on your region, even if you don't speak that language or the local version is horribly localized.
That being said, it did take a while for steam to actually become good. Steam near launch shudders

It's okay-ish. The store sucks because it gives me euro pricing just because I live near Europe. There's no game gifting in Origin, anything you buy goes to your account. And as someone above mentioned, the security is bad. I only use it for FIFA13.

Dont let the distribution platform put you off buying a game. Sure, Origin isn't as great as steam, but you dont need to use it much. I have it because I have sim city, but I only run origin when I run simcity, and then close it afterwards.

its no worse than steamworks, if you're cool with steam and want an origin game the only reason not to is to avoid the clutter of too many clients. if you don't mind that then go for it

Origin is not even near as good as Steam, but it's far from being as bad as people claim it to be.

The actual client is waaaay better than steam. the games and the company behind it...well, lets not even talk about them :P

No. Cloud sync works badly, friend managing is bulky, it doesn't have services like Workshop and guides, it has some hardware compatibility issues and it is not available for Linux.

Well, he said the actual client, not the service. And I agree the actual client is better than Steam's.

Atleast Origin wont uninstall you games compleatly random.

Which steam manageges to do ALOT for me...

So i'm saying this Origin Client is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR better then Steam's Client...

I do not want to know what my friends earnerd or what they just posted on some wierd place AND i dont want to have random mails saying "OMG JOIN THIS NOW WE ARE HAVING A HUGE CLAN BATTLE VS NOOBS! JOIN US!"

Also the new things that are coming uppdates that bugs out the client... steam uppdates atleast once everyday... or week... while origin uppdates atleast 1 time a month and then it is problems that Origin users have been having problem with...

Like games wont load because there is a problem with the firewall...

Wow, Steam updates every day, sure it is a big problem, i don't even know why people keep using that client instead of Origin.
