Not everyone uses the wishlists, though. Also, though I didn't directly state in the first post, the popularity rankings could change over time ("likes" from ended giveaways would expire after some amount of time), whereas wishlists don't change unless people get the games or remove them.

I don't understand what you're saying. This isn't about anything I want, it's a suggestion for the site as a whole. And regarding the sale items, the gifters are still buying things specifically to gift, so having an easy way to see what people want could still be useful.

I'm halfway understanding what's been said.
a second button on giveaway pages saying something like "I want to see more of this", which people could click on only after entering.
That is interesting. It's like a suggestion box. What are people looking forward to most? It's not exactly forcing people to make giveaways, but if there was a random person who was like, "I feel charitable, I wonder what I should make a giveaway for?" and then they'd have a page to look at.

There's been a lot of talk on here regarding people entering for games they aren't that hyped for, and how to make things more "fair" or give better odds to people who "really want" the game. I have a different idea. A popularity tracker, if you will. Basically, it would put a second button on giveaway pages saying something like "I want to see more of this", which people could click on only after entering. Every click adds a point to that game's popularity score, and the rankings could be displayed on a separate page. This way, the people nice enough to hold giveaways can see what people are hyped about, and potentially boost the number of giveaways for that game. The people who aren't terribly interested in a game have no reason to click the second button, so they don't contribute to the rankings.
