Hi everyone!
So, I got November's Zbox and I was lucky enough to get a golden variant of the Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary collectible coin.

Thing is, since I got it I just took it out of the plastic shell like 4 times to show it and/or take pictures and it is already showing sings of wear. So, the question is, is this normal or am I keeping it in the wrong place?

Not much but something

Never heard of these, but shouldn't you typically keep collectible coins in a zippered poly bag of some kind to prevent scratching?

Honestly, I didn't think about it and as it came in a very size-specific plastic case I thought it'll provide enough protection. I think I'll put in one of those, thanks (:

That would probably be for the best, yeah. I'm surprised you've scratched the coin if you keep it safe in its protective box, though. Are you sure the scratching doesn't come from handling it when outside its storage? If you're serious about it, you should consider wearing some kind of glove when handling the coin.

If you see closely at the third picture you'll see two straight lines, I don't think my hands can do that but I guess gloves aren't a bad idea before it loses even more value

No coin collector myself, but i know someone. He told me once that its not a good idea to wear gloves. It makes you lose tactile sensitivity in your fingers and you become more clumsy, thereby risking a dropped coin.

Didn't think about it, last thing I want is to drop this one

Like i said, i am no expert. i could imagine that you have enough grip with latex gloves. You might wanna google about coin handling. My friend never let me touch his coins cause i am not trained in it. I think he trained for some time on regular coins before touching the good stuff. In picture 3 for example it looks like you are touching the surface. Never do that, only edges afaik.

I don't usually grab it that way, I just wanted to show the damage on the edges. Thanks for your advices!

Shiny coins! :D Not a serious coin collector myself but I save some new coins every so often when new ones come out, or crisp new bills. Only real currency though, not collectibles. It's like a bit of side fun. Yeah, if you touch coins like that, skin oil gets all over it and it gets oily/dirty, sort of like what happens with touchscreen phones all the time or glasses lens if you grab them.

It's probably only worth 10 cents anyway so I wouldn't be too worried.

how much it is worth to get any kind of special storage medium for this coins, you need to know yourself.
Its probably not much worth, and never will become all to much worth. It still looks pretty nice although.

Congratulations!

I don't know much about collectible coins, but I would guess keep it in a cool and dry place, be careful with oxidation and don't touch it too much with your bare hands.

Thanks for "something", especially since Rebuild 3 is on my wishlist.
Have a bump, as I don't know much about collectible coins either.

Skin oil from your hands can damage the metal, wear gloves, keep it in a plastic container specifically made for collector coins (they are cheap)
