You ever thought extensively about a movie, in hopes of fixing whatever you thought it was a flaw?
have you ever took a break from the forum?
serious question. It has been so long since i made a thread. It feels like these days there is more conflict than actual nice people.
But you are always around :P

Bump and meow. Everyone was quick to point out plot holes with Prometheus, but like you with Don't Breathe, I spent a long time thinking about how to make everything work. I still like the movie.

Ive done it before with a movie called Pandorum

You mean Weyland-Yutani Enterprises purposefully sought out the biggest idiots in their respective fields in order to test alien shit on them? Or so that they wouldn't understand that the whole journey was meant for Weyland to find the metaphorical holy grail of alien technology?
Taken at face value horror movie plots have more holes than Swiss cheese targets on the firing range in an AK-47 convention.

Well, that same thing just happen to me last week over Fede Alvarez latest movie, Don't Breathe.
At first the ending didn't sit well with me and my friends, and after a small discussion we ended up digging up world´s biggest plot hole.
I climbed the ladder, removed it, and left my friends there for an hour until they agreed on looking at it in a way that would not destroy the movie.
Here are some spoilers, only for anyone who has watched the movie:
as you may know, the old man survives, makes quite an astounding recovery.
the cops, despite being right near the sex dungeon on the left and semen reserve on the right, seem to accept the old mans story as real.
In fact they disregard a lot of evidence that states other wise:
The robbers activated the emergency alarm
There is an extra pair of boots in the house
The smell from the body dipped in acid
The enormous amount of blood, where there are no bodies.
But, what if you watch it, as something near friday 13
What if the old man exists to make sure the kids accept the consequences of their actions. He may be real in this world, but at the same time cannot be killed, or be stopped or even follows the rules of the common man.
His punishment predicts the end, for anyone who embarks on a similar path. A path of auto-destruction.
So why wouldnt he be alive? why would the camp in friday 13 ever be closed due to murders?
Lets take "money" has an example, his entire character is based on achieving power and money disregarding the cost. It shows the difference the 2 generations.
old man, who is rich but has lead a life of suffering. He is trying to find happiness wherever he can find, but the world has nothing else to offer.
One the other side, you have the kids (most likely my generation), they have endless possibilites in this world, but their refusal to take action for their destiny and putting blame on others instead, drives to take from others, what they never fought to earn.
Yet, Money had is moment of reflection, for that moment, he was safe and only being tested. Old man cannot kill or "see" until they make their intentions clear
unfortunately for him, He lacked of any real empathy to discern what's right from wrong. When he opened the door, he was sure of what he wanted.
which leads us to the door scene, where the old vet wakes up and materializes out of thin air. "money" being the first one to show his intentions was also the first one to face the concequences of his actions.
Like him,all the other characters were put in the same situation.
Point is, old man was jason voorhees and the kids where on their judgment day
