"If you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you ..."

First picture was taken by a friend of mine (pd.barrios on Instagram) with his awesome telescope. It's the International Space Station crossing the moon
The second one was taken by the ISS. It's the Paraná River delta, and the big ass river "Rio de la Plata", our city is that grey area in the center.

I also recommend this amazing free app for universe exploration.

Ah, yes. An infamous quote by Friedrich Nietzsche. If you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you One of my personal favorites.

That same quote was used in the intro for the CRPG "Baldur's Gate"

Stellarium is great!

Space Engine is almost what "No Man's Sky" should've been. :)

Think I've heard in at least one videogame too! But surely quoted and paraphrased with abyssmal Frequency (both pun and a movie recommendation all in the same sentence!)
So, even from space our rivers showsup their murkybrownish colors :P

Edit: I knew it! The Witcher 3, around 1m40s in this YT video here
I'm sorry, you were all about the space pictures and I went with the phrase.. sigh... anyhow, did you see the recent one about the guy from Rosario (Sta. Fe) that found the exact moment when a supernova exploded? here (it's in spanish tho). Here, this one is in english.

The movie Frequency is pretty good too.

Edit: I though you were recommending The Abyss.

What the heck... both movies are really good.
