I've noticed that the giveaways are vastly random and have no sorting whatsoever. I would find it useful, being a level 0 account, that, until I hit Level 1, I would ONLY see the giveaways that I am able to enter, and nothing higher, as that information is useless to me due to my level.
I want to scroll down the giveaway list and not see spotted giveaways for level 0's mixed in among dozens of level 1, 4, 5, 8, etc. that I have no access to

seeing might serve as a motivation to do a few giveaways yourself and level up. so i think it's good that everyone can see the level restricted giveaways.

EDIT: oh, there actually is an option for that. didn't even know... ^^

Before now, I never even knew such options existed. Thank you for the assistance, you are notorious for a rapid response.

np, note if you check the option to hide the games you already own. It wont work 100% on occasions.
for example, I have Shogun 2 total war + all dlc. But when there is a complete edition offered it will still show.

same to hide dlc for base games not owned, some slip by for some reason but really helps to clean the list of possible entries :)

Like Raene says, and i forgot you can hide the slip by's with the crossed eye. Its like a blacklist but then for games instead of users.

edit if you want to be sure that the people you thank will see it, reply to there post and not to the thread in general, so they will receive an pm about it ;)

And for the DLCs and special packs that do slip by, you can manually hide those by clicking the little crossed out eye next to the giveaway link. :)

In my eyes if you have base game + all dlc and the complete edition is base game + all dlc it is exactly the same.
But I guess the steam id code for the product is used and then it will be different.

And to code the site so that it also catches the cases described as above, is a little to much to ask of CG :) at least we have something to work around with.

Any games with DLCs aren't excluded, since Steam doesn't send DLC-owned information, so SG can't automatically confirm DLC ownership.

Some games slip through because they share a store page [ie, due to being different versions of the same game], and it isn't properly matching to the correct game.

Some DLCs slip by (not owning the base game) because they're listed under Steam as subs/packages rather than using the normal DLC format, and thus can actually be purchased without owning the base game.

Just, in case you were curious :)

tl;dr version: Steam sometimes sends screwy or incomplete data :P

They already answered your question, so I'll just say that I like to see giveaways above my level, just to know what I'm losing. xD
