Looks like steam is determined to make using the trade/market system even more cumbersome. Check your profiles the options are no longer there to use. I guess we are no longer able to take care of our own security.

If you go to the marketplace it has a message "As part of our push to increase account security, you can no longer opt out of trade and Market confirmations. To complete a trade, trade offer, or Market listing, you'll need to confirm that action via a Steam email sent to xxxx@xxxxxxx"

What's next? I bet the mobile authenticator crap won't be optional in the near future.

What is so hard about using an e-mail,is your time that precious that you can not be bothered to take a couple seconds to open a e-mail.

I think it is about time they did that. They will never force the mobile thing, that would hurt them more then do them good, seeing how not everyone has a phone and so on.At least not force it any time soon, maybe when 99% of the pop has full access to a phone.

The biggest inconvenience for me is there are bots that do 1:1 same set card trading. I am sure this requirement will shut those down because they were automated.

Very good point. The three day ways kills the usefulness of Trashbot coupons, and this is just going to make it even worse.

Bleh, that sucks. I didn't use it on the shared family account because it uses their email. This is bull****. Bad enough you have the wait, but now they force emails for crap?

I would assume Valve has some kind of white list set up for Bots to be able to by pass these features,so people can continue to use Bots.As not all bots are used for trading so i imagine they have some kind of by pass for this.

Though i could see why you would be worried but until it declared that Bots are no longer working for sure,i would not get to excited just yet.

Well, it's cool to take a dump on Valve, but I think that's only revealing of how huge of a problem scamming really is for them.

The mobile authenticator is partly different because the app allows Valve to collect valuable user data they wouldn't have access to otherwise.

Smartphones: Consensual Spyware(tm). You heard it from me first.
