Favorite RTS franchise?
No red alert, no dune, no state of war, no ground control, no act of Aggression or act of war, no world in conflict, no Tom Clancy's end war, no krush kill n destroy, no colony, no total annihilation, no original war, no spellforce, no blitzkrieg, ? And the genre is dead, nearly dead, doesn't stop indies and some big devs from stoping to create more though but they will soon realize RTSdoesnt sell anymore thanks to mobas and StarCraft 2. Once it dies, I'm sure that's when Red Alert 4 will come, I hope. Voted for all, even if I didn't play or don't like some of them. Thanks for the giveaway.

It is part but it is it's own thing, if red alert is called c&c, then the original C&C doesn't have a name, just the sub titles such as Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun, Tiberium Wars and Tiberium Twilight.
Also you should share this with everyone who loves RTS but haven't seen this and want to learn and appreciate more and stuff =

I know AoE may have set the benchmark, but StarCraft totally transformed it.
I spent hours on both, but would have to say the in-depth storyline, characters, and dynamic makes my all time favourite.
I'll still play the original today.

I mostly play the Total War series (I loved the original Rome), but I grew up playing AoE 2. I also remember the days where I played Risk! Otherwise, I haven't played too many outside of those.

If you like Risk, try Risk Factions from Facebook, it's the best one in my opinion. They added recently a risk game in the app store but it's lame and boring. Also try Total War Arena if you hadn't yet, and AOE III with the new War for Liberty mod or whatever it's called that also was recently made.

No it's not sold anywhere as far as I can tell. But it's 20 years old so you can find a download somewhere I'm sure.
It's kind of like C&C but with more emphasis on base management. Your base has a population with a morale and they need certain things to keep everything running.

After the sucess of my first post and seeing how many people still love the most forgotten subgenre, I've decided to change it into a monthly thing. I don't know how long it'll last. Could end this month, could go on for ever. Let's celebrate strategy games!
Before anyone asks why a february giveaway is starting in january, 2 reason: 1) february only has 28 days and I want it to last 30 days. 2) I won't be here on tuesday to create this topic.
About the game: Since last month I gaveaway a hd remake of an old game, the GA of the month will be for a game released last year : Cossacks 3. Lvl 1+ as always.
This way no one can say that there aren't decent new strategy games coming out anymore. Totally not dead genre guys!
Btw, there are still 2 days left to join january GA.
