Hey guys,

This is a really sweet deal I just found on Ubisoft's Store: You can get ALL of the Assassin's Creed games plus Season Passes and DLC for a low-low price of 100 EUR! If you sacrifice 100 Uplay points MAYBE you can get it for as low as 80 EUR. I think this is the best deal ever mainly for those who doesn't own any or own only a few games. The discount runs until January 7th so you have time :) http://store.ubi.com/eu/assassin-s-creed--animus-pack/584543894e01656a168b4567.html

Also if you only miss games from a certain "era", you can get them in form of Bronze, Silver and Gold packs.
Bronze contains AC 2, Brotherhood and Revelations http://store.ubi.com/eu/assassin-s-creed--bronze-pack/58453df74e016558168b4567.html
Silver contains Black Flag, Rogue and Liberation HD http://store.ubi.com/eu/assassin-s-creed--silver-pack/584541fdef3aa537728b4567.html
and Gold contains Unity Complete and Syndicate Gold Edition http://store.ubi.com/eu/assassin-s-creed--gold-pack/58453ee4adc72412798b4567.html

If you have even the slightest interest in the AC series this is a perfect gift for Christmas :D

I've just finished playing it and am now on Platinum hunt. I enjoyed it a lot but I would find it really hard to give a summary of the main plot... There are lots of interesting pieces like Arno's relationship to Elise but somehow I found the overall conspiracy plot lacking.

Well, AC3 is the second buggiest game in the series, being so buggy that falling through the ground still is a common cause for game overs, and I could actually not even beat the DLC because there was a spot where the ground just did not work. Apart from that, there were plenty of rather serious bugs, like mission objectives not updating and forcing reloads. The game plays like it's in mid-beta with the latest patch.

If I were to pick a game to give away like this, I would have picked the second one. It's quite good. I also like the 4th one.

All of that is true but what I found the biggest flaw in AC3 was simply the lack of real buidings... One of the big strenghts of the AC franchise is climbing around on impressive historical buildings and 3 just doesn't have that. Black Flag was weak in this regard as well but at least there you had Havana, which was more than just a few wooden sheds.

It doesn't make any sense on a business standpoint , if you wanna learn why desmond is there in the third a.c. and who are his friends you should've played AT LEAST from the second one , so yeah , they had a good business strategy . About the bugs, I've never encountered those myself , the game was quite enjoyable and brought some new features, sure conor might not be full of personality but how could you be with only 1 game? ezio maybe was good in a.c. 2 , but if he was never brought back for brotherhood or revelations ( which was bad aswell, no plot explaination whatsoever) he wouldn't have been a memorable character.

To me, the game was a mess. And when I looked online to see if anyone else had reported similar problems, well, they were apparently quite widespread, at least the ones that were easily googled. One issue that seems to have been particularly common with the PC version was the caravans bugging out and being "occupied" forever, something that happened right at the start of the game for me, thus I could not make any money. This was actually an issue that was present in Revelations as well, with the money generation from buildings not working properly for a lot of people on PC. AC4 was also really buggy, but there were fewer bugs that forced you to reload your last save.
It's hard to tell exactly how widespread those bugs were, but I experienced a lot of rather serious bugs, and I know that I was at least not alone in this regard. (Unity was buggier, but then again, Unity is known for being buggy. It was actually kinda funny when the last boss did not animate, and just vibrated around the room, in a basic T-pose).

I don't think the number of games is the issue here. Conor was boring. The first character that you get to play, Haytham Kenway, was a lot more interesting, despite only getting a relatively small portion of the game for himself. Ezio was not an amazing character either, but even if you only count what you see in AC2, he was far far better than Conor.

Ezio was a huge part on the success of a.c. , i don't agree to the second part of your comment. I've never played unity since my pc wouldn't be able to run it at a decent enough fps i guess... hell , even the newest nvidia gpus couldn't lol , so i'll trust you on that one. I also didn't like the changes they did with the whole pirate thingy in black flag , don't get me wrong , they were good as secondary missions.. but primary? c'mon now.... also i got a bug on that game where i would fall off the world with my ship :D was funny af

After 3

And here I thought 3 had the worst conceived protagonist of all (maybe except Rogue).

the real protagonist was desmond miles.... after the ending of the third one a.c. was never the same , they should've dropped the others and called them another name.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Sure, in a way he is but in AC you've always spent just ~ 10% playing Desmond and the vast majority playing as one of his ancestors so I consider them the protagonists.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, that depends on how you look at it. The main protagonist for each game is mainly the guy you spend most of the game with. The main protagonist for the overarching story is Desmond. The games would have been better without Desmond ;)

No they wouldn't lol ,look at them now... desmond's story was the only reason i played through revelations , it was a mess of a game and i ended up being disappointed.

I can access them so my guess would be that they have different links on different Ubisoft Store regional servers. My links are for EU BTW and these deals are part of Ubisoft's Crazy Deals so you can search for them on your regional store :)

It is where you are from, if you try and access it in the US, it redirects you to their US store.

I used a proxy to see I was in Europe and it came up just fine. Not buying it, but just wanted to see what all it was.

Edit: But trying to access it in the US, it isn't on their US store so it doesn't show.

So it isn't available to US citizen then? I assumed it is, since whatever Ubi has for Europeans, they have it for USA too.

It might not be posted here yet, but as it stands, you can't get it from the US store yet.

But since it is keys and most likely not region restricted keys, you could probably still purchase them and redeem them on a US steam account.

It's still one day earlier in the states (East Coast is currently at 9:40PM). If it's intended to line up with the AC3 advent calendar day as part of that day's promotions, it's likely just a matter of waiting a few hours for us in the states.

3 i free in December and you can get 1 in any sale for a few €s
So why should anyone buy the hole package?

Because only the Animus package contains all DLCs and Season Passes. Among the packs only the Gold tier has Complete editions to offer. Also you miss AC Chronicles Trilogy too.

I'm from Europe, Belgium and the links don't work for me either. But I could google the store and see the deals there. Though the pricing seems to be inconsistent for the gold and animus packs, either 34.99€ and 84.99€ or 39.99€ and 99.99€ depending if I go to the dutch store or the french store. FarCry also has similar deals.

So the extra 20% off can't be applied with the concurrent promotion? Welp, I guess I'll pass this one. AU$149.99 is way too expensive for me.

Seems like it :/ If you have a ton of points you can try to buy a voucher but as per the description it won't be applied :/

If an item is already on sale, only the highest discount will be applied; also, they don't work on preorders and newly released titles, so those 20% coupons are virtually useless for games, their only practical use is for merchandise (if I remember correctly).

There is a Steam bundle for AC IV, Rogue, Unity and Syndicate: http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/757/
Also I don't know why would you want an extra DRM on top of Uplay. It gives you more hassle. I bought Watch Dogs 2 for Steam thinking that I will get a key for Uplay, but nooooo. It just got linked with my Uplay profile and now it won't run without Steam.
Also Valve gets a cut for every sale Ubisoft has on Steam Store so they'd have to price the games higher.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The advantage would be mainly monetary. With the steam bundle and able to buy what you are missing with a discount.
I know that bundle but these are no the deluxe/gold editions. Reason I haven't bought it.

The double DRM isn't good meaning higher chances for problems and service outage of either would create more hassle than good but I already have most on Steam already, would prefer to have all on my Steam library as well.

With the amount of sales they make on Steam instead of Uplay I bet they make more profit with Steam :D

You have to keep Steam and Uplay running. My college took away wired net connection and on the wifi only Uplay is available. So games that need double-DRM are kinda hard to run.

Apart from the double DRM "issue" stated above, if you own Ubisoft games on Steam, you can only buy their DLCs on the Steam store itself, as every other place where you can buy Ubisoft games only sells Uplay keys.
