No. Your friends tricked you stupid dumb butt

If they were charging money to enter, yes, that's a form of online gambling and is illegal in some places. And since it's online, it's highly likely that at least one person entered from one of those places where online gambling is illegal.

Anything with value. If you have to buy in, it's officially a sweepstakes in some places, and needs to follow all state and local laws for every participant. Smaller ones may not get reported, but if they do, the law doesn't usually make a distinction based on how big it was.

And it would be pretty hard to argue that items have no monetary value, given that there's a real life currency value on them in the marketplace.

It may technically be illegal in some jurisdictions. So far I'm not personally aware of anyone giving enough of a crap for any groups to be closed down - but if that did happen I wouldn't be surprised and I wouldn't shed any tears...

The answer is yo. So, uh,, raffles can be illegal, depending on the local laws, etc. Typically, there are thresholds and limits between "casual" and "professional" gambling which can make a difference. If you ran a raffle with friends, you wouldn't be arrested, but if you ran an international raffle group you might have legal action taken against you. You probably won't be arrested for being involved, but running one might get you in trouble.
