Hi, buddies.
I got my preorder BF4+China Raising CD Key (ROW) from Todokeys. A spanish CD key reseller. 33 Euros.

The thing is, when to activate it in Origin?
I don't want to risk my account or been banned.

The game will be release 31th October, but i have heard that people who preordered the game can download it at least 24 hours before to have the whole thing prepared to play the next day.

Did anyone activate the game in Origin already?
Did anything wrong happen to you with BF3 preorder?
I just have heard rumours here and there, but i'm not sure if they can ban you for this.

I can wait, i just need to know when to do it. :)

Have a nice day and thanks in advance.

PD: No, it's not a thread to show off that i got the game, in case someone is thinking on it, lol.

You can activate it when you want as long as you have the key, but you have to wait for a certain time when you can preload it. For me, that time is in four hours.

Well, you bought it from an official retailer I suppose? If you trust this retailer, and it doesn't tell you to wait with activation, go activate it. If something happens, blame the retailer...

Yes, i asked the guy from the online shop (before i made the preorder), he told me that the keys are all from an official reseller from EA.

Thanks :)

Why would they ban you for activating your key before the release date? I do find it a bit strange that they actually gave you a key before the game is even released, but I suspect they took it from a retail copy.

Well, when I preordered BF3, I got the retail copy about 2 weeks before release. I could activate the game etc. but haven't been able to install the game until it was released ;)

2 weeks before release? That must have been a painful wait lol.

I preordered it 8 month before relase, so I was already able to wait. In this time I built a completely new computer "only" for BF3. The bad thing that happened was the patch, that has been released after the first week of release. I wasn't able to play anymore, and after several days of reinstalling BF3/Windows and a not helping EA support I wrote a looong complaint with several offensive words (e.g. "I hope all your offices burn down with you in it" or "all your programmers are born in the gutter", while the word "gutter" earned me a 3 days suspension, which lasted over 3 month). Finally after 6 month I was able to play again, but I didn't want to anymore...

Origin basically ONLY gives CD-Keys. Heck, if you go to your library, it'll show the product code for that game

That is so strange. Even games bought through the Origin store are automatically activated, but still have a product key.

You can activate it, and it'll just say in Origin that the game is not yet released.

It is usual that retail version comes out about 3-5 days earlier before the game is actually unlocked. It gives distributors some time to dispatch games in order to let people who pre ordered game can have it on the release day. So distributors got retail version about a week before release. And it is legal that you can activate a game before release because many games have pre load option for all players.

FYI, the preload started/starts today too. So it's really not risky to register a key "early". It's much more risky to buy from questionable resellers ;)
