Get the cat anyway please. They don't mind being alone, and if you save one cat that really helps the next cat not get put down or end up on the streets with a bad life.

She has four thumbs! Two on each front paw. And her tail is so fluffy! Her name is Poly (because she's a polydactyl). I adopted her about about a month and a half ago, and she's 4 months old.
