what do you think the best choice?

View Results
buy kingdom of amalur and spore to reedem my sins before
buy the witcher 3 because plot (your laptop can run it mate!)
don't buy anything : remember your ex in library, play with them first!

Amalur is nothing like Dragon Age: origins. It plays more like a more open Divinity 2 mixed with World of Warcraft. If you want something like DA:O, look into Divinity: Original Sin, Baldur's Gate, or Pillars of Eternity.

Amalur is an action RPG. I think it's a really fun game that went sadly underappreciated, but just be aware that it's not like Dragon Age: Origins. Dragon Age Inquisition may be closer in style (I haven't played it yet), or the Fable series if you've played any of them. I think it's well worth $1.80.

Witcher 3 is fantastic, though it's also not like Skyrim. I doubt your laptop can play it, however. Looking up the 940MX, it looks to be well below the minimum requirement of a GTX 660. It's a steal at only $1.80, but it'll cost you a lot more to upgrade to a PC that can run it.

The "Tales of" games are really fun, so playing them is always a good option.

Don't buy anything until you cleared your to-do list.

Saves you a lot of money cause the games will only get cheaper over time and you will probably buy less stuff which you end up not playing at all.

While great advice in general, I'm not sure if it applies here. I think the price for Amalur has bottomed out, and I doubt you're ever going to get Witcher 3 for $1.80.

But in general, terrific advice! :)

its not the witcher at 1.8$, but when bought in steam store total 10$ you get cash back 1.8$, i think i already explain it

Oh, I thought you had a $10 off coupon so it would only cost you $1.80. I guess I totally misunderstood.

Dont buy anything, 1st of all this sale isnt the best sale. The best discount is in the Winter Sale that is the last sale. Unless you really missed a discount last sale due to some circumstances and desperately wanted to play a game, skip the sales till winter is what I'll say. If you are looking at the sale rewards of badges etc or have a discount for this period of time, then perhaps it'll be a good deal.
Cheers, Cruse~

After reading other comments, Do note that discounts for games arent as great as other times as I mentioned so for example a game is selling at 50% when highest is 75% then you'll be off setting that 25% for the 1.80 you get back. However, Witcher 3 is at its lowest. 70% was recently introduced in the last big sale on GOG. As a great dev they are in CDPR the price will remain so for a long time so it is save to say you can get it later. Amalur had been on sale for a long time, I was looking at it when I was looking for cheaper games to purchase. Just note that the game(s) you'll be buying might not be the cheapest due to lesser discount and rise in price without notification, so check ITAD before your purchase, Regards~

I got Kingdoms of Amalur in a trade a long time ago and I didn't get the chance to play it as much as I would have liked but it seemed really good and it is a game I want to go back to. I later found out it was very cheap at some point due to the company that made it having financial difficulties or something and I probably got ripped off in the trade but I didn't mind as it seemed like a quality game. As others as mentioned I don't think it is what you seem to think it is though.

I recall Witcher 3 ran on my computer and was playable even though it was below the minimum requirements at the time. It did look like poop though...

The first one aged awfully.
I played it back then when It was realeased, the I tried to replay it last year.
But I guess it's still playable, if you don't mind graphics and clunky fights. ( you may want to mod it a bit)

I've literally just played through both W1 and W2, and if you don't mind pseudo CRPG mechanics and can't tolerate a slightly older game I'd recommend you do too. The only thing you really need to do is to use the movement speed mod.

In your case i wont buy Witcher 3, you graphic card is weak for that game, I think you can play the game on lowest settings and resolution. I have got gtx 850M in my laptop and can play witcher 3 on HD resolution and medium settings with 45 FPS, on FullHD and lowest settings its maybe 30FPS but after few minutes temperature of graphic card is 90Ā°C. And off course I would never compare Witcher with Skyrim both games are very different.

Witcher is more story-driven while skyrim is more openworld-sandboxy.

i wanted to say witcher 3 but after some quick & dirty research i turned up this:

FPS tests

The Witcher 3 on GeForce 940MX.
low / 768p
36
medium / 768p
23
high / 1080p
12
ultra / 1080p
7
4k / 2160p
4āˆ’5

https://technical.city/en/video/GeForce-940MX

so that is a total nope.

its low really bad? because i dont mind if not really bad, still considering other options too

i can't really tell but i guess it will look really terrible.
however keep in mind witcher 3 is very combat heavy and you really can't fight, parry and dodge all that well with choppy and low fps.

i mean you can always buy it, check it out quickly and refund if all else fails. 15 bucks for witcher 3 goty is a total steal.

Playing W3 on low is bad imo, even though I've yet to play it myself but had seen streams of it. It simply does not do the game justice graphically for the effort the devs put in for the game. Unless you're only looking at the game mechanics front, I do not think you'll get a full experience playing under high. There will be alot of textures missing which spawns a beautiful world to roam in. My 2 cents~

I've been meaning to try Amalur myself (huge fan of Dragon Age too!) so I'd suggest that.
I'd be worried about you running The Witcher on that honestly, though it is pretty cheap now. (but since you mentioned t*rrents and that doesn't quite matter I'd say go with Amalur) Although I do also recommend going through Witcher 2 for now, you could run it and it's fairly short (took me like 3-4 days I believe) and you'll know more about the story before going into 3.
And to add onto another comment, I finished both Pillars of Eternity and honestly found the games boring story-wise, especially coming from my Dragon Age high so don't go into that one expecting amazing plot, very decent mechanics however.

Edit: And hey! If you haven't played the other Dragon Age games definitely get onto that! :D

amalur is trash, it starts like a normal rpg and ends up like a poor mmo played in single player where all quests are "collect 4987498754 of this item".

don't by anything and wait till the next sale.

Amalur is a sp mmo basically. I don't see the allure but if you want all the grind and menial quests with none other pesky humans go for it.

Witcher 3 is nothing like Skyrim, even without playing it I can say that. It's a good choice but cheapskate me waits for less price.

I loved Zesteria (havent played other tales though). Completelly for story, characters and exploration though since imo the combat and loot systems suck and I advise lowest difficulty just so you can skip that bad stuff and enjoy what's actually good in that game.

i still dont get how upgrade weapon/armor in zestiria work, can you explain it to me?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

My advise is "don't bother"
But it allows you to merge 2 identical items. If its bonus slots are filled it's;

  1. The same; same
  2. Different. New skill (needs to be unlocked by using the item)
Skills from 2 that aren't unlocked countvas nothing so dissapear or are overwritten if merging further.

Then each of the skills also has an element on the grid that gives bonusses per stack or array (next to each other).

But yeah, overall I would say just dont bother, wear the best stat stuff and combine everything that wont make empty slots where a skill could be. It's much too complicated and random for it's own good, requiring tons of grinding for items you quickly replace :/
