Why would anyone enter for games if they have no intentions of actually playing? The only game I won that I haven't played is only because I won it around summer sale time so it's in my backlog. Little Inferno was a winner for me and one of my most enjoyable games.

Sometimes you can enter a giveaway expecting to play it at some point in your life, though, when you have more free time, and then find that that doesn't come (or at least hasn't come yet.) Or you can intend to play it immediately, but another game can come along which you want to play first, and then another and another, and eventually the game you intended to play is forgotten at the bottom of the pile...

now thats not entirely fair.
sometimes it wont run on your machine, sometimes its not as fun as you thought.
there is more to it than just thinking "oh I wont ever play this game"

Well, the OP does mention monthly giveaway groups. For those, since you're paying an entrance fee might as well just enter for everything you can.

I will play the games I win too, but I just do not play them before I am ready to put a lot of time down into them.
I do not like to play a game for 60 minutes and then jump to another :/ I did it before but now I have finally decided not to do it again. Right now I am playing Dark Messiah and I am intending to finish it before starting on a new game.
On the other hand; all the giveaways I enter are for games that I am genuinely interested in playing!

I tried the Gun Monkeys I won but didn't like it much. Might try it later since they reduced the price and now there might actually be servers with people in it. And I already got the achievement for the Maw dlc I won. :)

The only game I haven't even tried is Home, and that's because I haven't had access to Windows computer for a while. I only entered it because I had just joined SG back then (it was my first win) and wanted to burn all my points fast. I'll play it eventually, but it might take a while until I can. Gun Monkeys was a bit awkward so I'll see if I come back to it, but I've completed all the other games I've won. I actually have 39 hours in Castle Crashers and I'm not even close to being done with it.

I only enter for games that I am interested in but buying is not a priority. Zero risk, random reward.
Some games I have won (Bit Trip Core, Miner 2081) seemed interesting, but I really disliked and am glad I didn't spend money on them.
Others (Scratches, Alan Wake American Nightmare) I played for a while, even beat, but I'm pretty glad I didn't spend money on them.
Some (Archon, The Guild 2) I just haven't gotten around to really playing.

I don't play all of them. Then again I have several games I've bought from as far back as 2 years ago that I never play either.
I've played and enjoyed a few of the ones I've won here. I've also been lucky enough to win games outside of this site as well. I've played some of those. If I like a game, I'll usually take the time to finish it. If not, well it goes on the pile of games I may or may not ever get around to finishing on some distant hypothetical rainy day.
I'm very appreciative of every game I've won, and I am even more grateful for the ones I've been able to get some enjoyment out of.

It depends on what the game is for me. If I've been DYING to play it, I'll play it right after I win it or shortly after. Otherwise, it just really depends on how much time I have. When I have more time on my hands, I try playing my longer games because I like it better when I get that continuity. If the game is shorter, I'd probably save it for a time when I don't have hours on end to play games.

I usually don't play any games, neither those I buy nor those I win. I sometimes play 20 minutes or so, but rarely return to the game. That doesn't mean I don't want to play them. The games I won here are certainly games I wanted to win, not just random games I entered.
That's why I stopped entering giveaways on SG.
