I will buy a PS4 this week because my graphic card died last month.

I can buy a new graphic card but it doesn't worth to pay for it since i should upgrade another parts too like CPU and RAM and i don't want to do that because of #LIMITEDBUDGET(300$)

:3

If by any chance you like to know what's my PC config :
MB: ASUS P8P67
CPU : Core i7-2600K 3.4 GHz
RAM: 2x4 GB

With this processor he should get 1060. AMD cards are way more demanding for processor.

But it is the other way around, AMD cards can do calculations from hardware NVidias cannot. NVidia has an integrated physics processor, so yes, AMD cards need more CPU when PhysX is working—but so do NVidia ones, as PhysX still bottlenecks at the CPU even for them.

So, I'm still baffled and hope for an answer. Which is hopefully not "CPU overhead", because that is not how driver instructions work…

^ This 100%. The newer AMD cards have asynchronous command engines, so they're able to deal with graphics and compute workloads at the same time.

buying a ps4 plus games to go along with it is more costly then just the replacement GPU. i'm not sure what people do with playstations when you don't own games for it.

Actually, it's my main concern about having a PS4 as my primary gaming device.

I know nothing about PSN and how Sony managing that store. I know it's not like Steam at all. I guess there's not any third party stores to sell their games. I really hope i don't waste that money.:S

Yeah, i made a north america PSN account a few days ago.
It doesn't worth to pay for physical copies here. I only want to buy digital copies and when they have good discounts on sales. But i don't know how's PSN discounts compare to Steam store.

And i know there's nothing like humble bundle there too.

Console sales are trash compared to Steam, you're gonna spend way more in the long run.

I recommend you to buy a graphics card, GTX 1060 or 1070 instead of PS4. Your spec is good enough..

that processor is still up to par, just buy an RX480 or a GTX1060, if too expensive get the RX470 or a GTX1050Ti, wichever is cheaper.

performance goes this way : RX480 = GTX1060 > RX470 > GTX1050Ti. RAM might become a problem in some time tough.

in a recent demo of FF XVII the PS4 they were using overheated and shut down, the thing is the PS4 Pro is comming and even tough they said the PS4 will still be able to run games, it will become an afterthought sooner rather than later. BF1 on PS4 run at around 25FPS and it downsamples to ridiculous degrees. buying a console right now its not only buying old hardware but buying old hardware that is going to get abandoned soon.

Your specs are fine. Really. Just get a Asus GTX 1060 Dual OC.

My GPU died awhile back too, but I went with a 1060 and I love it. I'm running everything at max settings while maintaining over 60fps on every game I own. My CPU is an i5 btw.
Edit: here's the GPU I got http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125901

your CPU is still perfectly fine, a new GPU will be enough.

You know that there are no bundles for PS4, or sales anywhere near as good/cheap? You'll end up paying way more that way.

Buy a graphics card instead! But if you absolutely want a PS4 just admit it. Don't make excuses.

I would pick up a cheap, but good aftermarket cooler and overclock the CPU to 4.5 Ghz and you will be fine with any GPU, even a GTX 1080. Your CPU may bottleneck the 1080 in certain games like Fallout 4, GTA V, and Witcher 3, but most games are not as CPU demanding as those and you should be fine. If you get a GPU around the 1060 or 1070 range you should have no problems.

get a Nvidia Geforce 960, i used to have your specification 6 years back, work perfectly fine with Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and FO4 on y last run, but FO4 was a full of crap DLCs XD

but if you going for Ultra setting in witcher 3 then for sure you need a better VGA

All you need is a little more RAM, the 2600K is a fine gaming CPU. Early this year I upgraded from a 2600K to a 6700K and see absolutely no difference in performance.

Rest of your specs are perfectly okey . Buy gpu for 200$ and be done with it. Your rig will run better than ps4 will ever will + you will have leftover cash for games.
