What game surprised you positively lately?

Binding of isaac.

Walking Dead is surprising in that it's so much better than the other Telltale games I've tried so far. Also, it has surprises. SPOILER.

Dynamite Jack, that game is fun.

Max Payne 3, by far surprised me after hearing all the bad things from hardcore fans of the series. It was an incredible experience.

Duke Nukem forever, it was actually really good

Civilization 5. Definitely not the type of game I normally play, but I've been addicted to it the past few days. Picked up the Gods and Kings pack yesterday and holy fuck.

Terraria

Bastion. Finished that durring my exams... No wonder why i didntbwrite so well...

Last remnant - awesome as hell

Spiral Knight. I played it some time ago and didn't like it. started to play it again yesterday and now I really enjoy playing it expect for the energy thing

Trine 2. I mean, I expected it to be good, but not quite this good. It turned out to be one of the best platformers I ever played.

Also Costume Quest. I bought it because I loved Psychonauts, but the concept didn't appeal to me much. Turns out it's a great, charming game in its own right.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I picked it up as an afterthought in the Amazon bundle, but really really enjoyed running through the coop mode with a friend.

Borderlands - thought its only a poor shooter with rpg elements but its something way better and bigger!

Dungeon Defenders. The only reason I bought it is splitscreen co-op and I didn't expect much from that game. So far I own all of the DLC and I love it.

Alice Madness Returns. I bought it on a whim because I wanted to change it up since my installed library consisted of too many FPSs, and I've been enjoying it immensely. The gameplay isn't spectacular, but what really draws me in is the universe/atmosphere.

The Walking Dead =] I bought it thinking it must be a nice game as it's got many positive reviews, but I ended up enjoying it alot... Way more than I've expected =] An amazing game.
Also, Star Wars: Dark Forces.
I bought the SW complete pack as I begun watching Star Wars and I love it, and I'm starting with the Jedi Knight series. So I started playing Dark Forces for the story and I thought it's not gonna be too good, but I'm really enjoying it :P

I didn't necessarily buy it,but was gifted it because I'm poor xP but it was The Legend of Grimrock,pretty hard if not played right. I got my whole party killed before the first save x3 Still,incredibly fun

though a bit predictable i actually enjoyed binary domain way more than i was expecting and would love a sequel
