We had a lot of "what game you regret" buying on the last week, possibly because the summer sale hangover, but there isn't only regret and self loathing post sales. We got a lot of incredible surprises and hours of fun in games that we aren't hyping too much, and I want you guys to share that good moments with me!

I bought borderlands expecting a poor's man fallout 3 with cartoonish graphics, but man, the game is surprisingly fun, spent a lot of time with my incendiary sniper rifle piercing bandits on the wasteland...

Same thing with bastion on the last sale, I was waiting for a artsy game and nothing more, but in the end I had fallen in love with the game and played it till the last achievement, truly a masterpiece for me.

And you guys, what games gave you more than you have asked for?

I'm doing The Purist challenge, just about to kill Mom's heart. And then I killed Mom's heart and I go wooohooo. I thought I have beaten the challenge. But then, suddenly a ray of white light shone upon the room, inviting me to the cathedral. Not long after that Isaac was raped by Super Greed and Fistula in the very first room.

Well at least it wasn't at the chest fighting the boss with Maggy (who is the last character I need to win with) and dieing from one of the angel things AFTER I beat the boss :(

Walking Dead is surprising in that it's so much better than the other Telltale games I've tried so far. Also, it has surprises. SPOILER.

Max Payne 3, by far surprised me after hearing all the bad things from hardcore fans of the series. It was an incredible experience.

Civilization 5. Definitely not the type of game I normally play, but I've been addicted to it the past few days. Picked up the Gods and Kings pack yesterday and holy fuck.

Trine 2. I mean, I expected it to be good, but not quite this good. It turned out to be one of the best platformers I ever played.

Also Costume Quest. I bought it because I loved Psychonauts, but the concept didn't appeal to me much. Turns out it's a great, charming game in its own right.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I picked it up as an afterthought in the Amazon bundle, but really really enjoyed running through the coop mode with a friend.

Dungeon Defenders. The only reason I bought it is splitscreen co-op and I didn't expect much from that game. So far I own all of the DLC and I love it.

Alice Madness Returns. I bought it on a whim because I wanted to change it up since my installed library consisted of too many FPSs, and I've been enjoying it immensely. The gameplay isn't spectacular, but what really draws me in is the universe/atmosphere.

The Walking Dead =] I bought it thinking it must be a nice game as it's got many positive reviews, but I ended up enjoying it alot... Way more than I've expected =] An amazing game.
Also, Star Wars: Dark Forces.
I bought the SW complete pack as I begun watching Star Wars and I love it, and I'm starting with the Jedi Knight series. So I started playing Dark Forces for the story and I thought it's not gonna be too good, but I'm really enjoying it :P
