Pulp influenced stuff along the lines of The Shadow or Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I know a lot of people prefer Darkman to The Shadow and I did enjoy it but for me The Shadow wins out.

Thankees peeps.

Sky Captain, now there's a title I haven't watched in years. I'll have to look into those other two you mentioned. Unfortunately I am running a blank on other films to suggest, unless you like anime.

The Shadow was based on a serialized pulp novel from the 30s, and particularly the Orson Welles voiced radio adaptation. It and Darkman often pop up in discussions together as Darkman is the film Sam Raimi made when he was unable to secure the rights to either The Shadow or Batman. Darkman was actually a few years earlier than The Shadow and also had two sequels.

Iron Sky, for that extra "wrong side of The Rocketeer" feeling.
Or The Rocketeer for that matter.

The Rocketeer I have seen but probably not for at least a decade so I'll give that another shot. I keep passing Iron Sky on Netflix but haven't actually gotten around to it yet. I'll fire it up next time I've got the 360 on and give it a go. Thanks.

I liked to watch Hobbit 3, my cousin says it's already available in Russia, but not here in Spain apparently, I suggest you watching this, normally movies come to Spain sooner than into Russia, but seems not the case, here it will be available on 17th December :(

I will be watching this, however it's absolutely, not in the slightest, even remotely, vaguely similar to what I was actually asking for.
