I believe any game that has any Nazi symbol in it is banned in Germany, regardless of context. To prevent Nazi worship. That's why Doom II is on that list (it has a secret level with Nazi symbolism in reference to their Wolfenstein 3D game).

But then again the uncut versions and keys can't be activated whereas you can do that for games like South Park.
So if he's looking for games that are not even censored available, then yes they don't belong on the list, but this thread would be quite helpful if it would also list the ones that you can / cannot activate in uncut versions.

If any game has swastikas in it and Steam delivers the content to a german account (probably irrespective of which region it was originally activated in, i.e VPN) then they are committing a crime according to german laws. That would potentially mean GabeN being arrested if he comes to GamesCom because it was technically possible to prevent which his company failed to do.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? really? I get that they're sensitive about there being nazi's in it but it's not like the game ever implies that all Germans are nazis or anything like that. plus Fate of Atlantis isn't on that list, which features more nazis than you can roll a boulder over

Geht so wie ich geschrieben habe alles ohne VPN. Ich setze auf Gifts wenn Keys mit deutscher IP nicht gehen.
Es gibt meines Wissens nur die 4 Geo-Lock Spiele: Wolfenstein TNO & TOB, Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition und die neue Version von der Kane and Lynch Collection, zuzüglich entsprechender Packs die die Spiele enthalten.
Bei Dead Rising OTR muss man auch aufpassen hatte auch mal was dazu in der OGDB geschrieben.

Gun, TimeShift and Prototype 2 (also not in Steam Store anymore, but missing in the list) are both currently available in the Activision BYOB at Humble Store. Seems as if they forgot to remove them from the German offer.
Btw: SiN Episodes: Emergence isn't available in the German store anymore. And the list is also missing Bulletstorm. Haven't bought yet, so I can't provide VPN info.

Seriously when you look at the game, you have a hard time believing it even shows Nazi symbols and I'm pretty sure it doesn't glorify Nazis. But that's something they have been doing so they'll keep doing it. And when you see the rise of the extreme right there, like in a lot of Europe, I guess it's not working but hey, they're sticking to it.
i think we're better off learning from the past not to repeat the same mistakes than pretending it didn't happen but what do I know.

Ich hatte damals glaube VPN genutzt. Alekhine's Gun ging aber ohne. (Sleeping Dogs hatte eine ein 90 Tage lock, bis es ohne VPN spielbar war)

Das ist auch in extrem wenigen Regionen aktiv. Und keys existieren gar nicht.
Und heutzutage gibt es extrem wenig bzw nur unwichtiges oder Trash, was nicht zu aktivieren geht. Das ist auch gut so.
