So, a Friend bought this VR Equipment but rarely used it so it's in Perfect Condition and willing to sell it to me for $300 (USD$215).
Since buying a VR Set is expensive as hell at my Tech Stores and I'm interested in VR itself, can I get Opinions about this VR Set itself?

Should I get it?

Don't know much about headset, but for that price it's a no-brainer in my opinion. My Quest 2 should arrive soon so I'm excited about VR.

Since it's your friend, you can probably test it before buying, or if you are sure it's in "Perfect Condition", then it seems like a good deal.

I've tested it playing Elite Dangerous on his Driving Station. It really is in Perfect Condition.

Great. If you have already tested it, it should be safe to buy it.

No man. This is old and outdated headset. Do not waste $300 on it. Its NOT a good deal. I dont know why others are saying its a good deal when its not.
For US$300 you can buy a new Quest 2, which is way better. Or buy a used Quest 2 for cheaper if money is an issue.
This will have blurry display due to low resolution and have screen door effect, where you can literally see the gap between pixels.
Newer headsets like Quest2 and Reverb G2 solve those problems.

I have this headset. I love the AMOLED screens and the lack of screen dooring. BUT. I HATE dealing with WMR under Steam VR. I wish these WMR headsets weren'ttied to the Windows OS and Mixed Reality app. I hardly use the thing, even though I love VR. This is because I can't be arsed to get everything set up and working properly, then to load up a VR game and then worry about the controls being mapped properly. Fu#( I'd rather a real VR headset. I bought mine second hand for $300 two years ago. If you're really strapped for cash and want a cheap entry into VR it will do it's job. Just be prepared for some extra headaches that you wouldn't experience with an actual non-M$ headset.

Microsoft copies everything, and they always do it badly. Too bad they are the biggest game in town, because the world would be better off dropping their half assed implementation of anything they do. Sorry, getting off track. My view on M$ doesn't effect my opinion on this headset though. It's just as I said, nicely designed, but the drivers and WMR software make it a non optimal experience.

Good luck on your choice in the end!
