Most common reason of blacklisting
I blacklist anybody who makes multiple GAs for the same game with no parameters to differentiate (e.g no separate GA for different levels, etc) because 1 of 2 things: 1) either they're too lazy to go back and double-check their work or they have no respect for the community and feel making them spend their points on multiples of the same GA are acceptable. I know, arguments about free choice to enter the GAs, I'm an asshole etc, blah blah blah. Not here to debate semantics, just one of the ways how I choose to mange my blacklist.

Cool,
I'm not sure if my version of poll is really a joke though.
Sometime people blacklist for typo too, might be careful about that too.

I blacklist the people who win my giveaways. I don't like the idea of giving the same person more than one game.
This probably stems from the fact that most winners of my giveaways have been people with hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of games in their accounts, many of which have 0 hours of recorded playtime.
If I'm going to give someone a game, I want them to play it! I don't want it to gather dust on a shelf next to unplayed indie platformers and Japanese graphic novel games. I wish there were a way around this problem.

There is, make your own group with these requirements for joining

So you could make a requirement in order for a person to win the game. The requirement being must have less then 50 paid games in library.

What?!
There is potato option but is not so obvious like in other ones. You shown that you are not the coosen potato, you will not fry in oil of glory!
Wait...
I'm stupid? (jk) mean joke? I'm not native English speaker and sometimes miss things like this.

How does blacklisting work? Why would you blacklist someone for saying thanks??? What exactly is a regifter? Is it someone who wins a giveaway and just reputs it up? Or is it people who get deals off of https://www.humblebundle.com/ or http://www.bundlestars.com/ and put what they already have or don't want up here? Personally I don't think blacklisting should be something that is used frequently. At most I would probably only use it in two cases "Complaining about GA creators with no created GAs - next lvl of leecher" and "Insulting somebody" If anything I think the only real reason you should be Blacklisting someone is because they are as one person said earlier "Toxic" if the user is a hateful, spiteful person that doesn't contribute, but in fact incites hate and conflict on purpose just to make people upset. Then they should be blacklisted (Also you should probably report such people too.)

Regifter is person who give away won games. If regifter would be someone who give games from bundles, well...
I think that most of this site would be regifters because who never gave away ibundled game?
Toxic people are everywhere and I am sometimes sad that I can't blacklist comments from some people.

I have too many reasons to just stick to one, especially if it's a one time thing.
Especially because 3x reason A, might trump 1x reason B.
Consistent patterns of behaviour i deem inappropriate, whether through rule-breaking or otherwise are the main reasoning behind the people i have blacklisted. That said, it's the main, not the sole reason.
As in, some one-time offenders might have made a too severe of an offence to just let it slide (at least in my book). But has to be a really big one.

I can only understand it only in the case kraken referred as a means to weed out scripters / bots (trust me, there are more bots out there than spamming entries in GAs than you might think). But i would extend that to people not saying anything if i were to ever do a GA to weed them out and i would specify that in bold in the description. I mean let's face it, a bot can't read, but no excuse for a human not to.
Only in that instance would i deem it appropriate though. Just my 2 cents anyway. :)
I still prefer Zomby2D's approach on one GA he made to weed those out, seemed more than appropriate.

But sometimes it's hard to tell whether it's a bot or not.
I always write "thanks" manually, what then? Sometimes I add ;), sometimes I add exclamation mark but in most cases I just say "thanks" and what then? You could confuse me for a bot but I am truly grateful to people making giveaways and that's why I thank them.

Well, i do the same you do, if the GA description says nothing. I think you missed my point. :)
Like i said, only in the specific case of the GA description stating clearly that you should say something specific other than thanks, would i understand it.
That said, i myself, have not proceeded to ever blacklist anyone for that.
Thought about doing a 1-time GA to weed them out that way, but haven't thus far.
Just meant to say, if people go about it the right way (which is up for debate ofc), i won't judge. Said i'd understand it, not that i've done it.

Sometimes i blacklist people who never activated their wins, independently of ever getting suspended for it or not, most of the times i dont.
So...i guess my main reason for blacklisting would be: Mood

I can let most things slide, but regifters are a plague that must be exterminated. I also blacklist people who generally act like assholes in one way or another.
I have no problem with leechers. Some people really don't have money to spare and that's ok. I've seen people who have been leechers for years start giving back once they've gotten a steady job.

I blacklist by far mostly for regifting, leeching, rude people, SG users with offensive avatars, know scammers and/or people that spam trade offers on a large amount of SG users at the same time and then say; when you have taken the time to check their list; : "sorry I have already traded". When I myselves does a trade offer I wait on the response of the trader and only after his or her's negative reponse I move on to make my offer to another trader.

I voted "Insulting somebody" but it has to be a bit more than just that (usually), either due to context (I remember a thread about suicide 2-3 years ago where people were saying "Just kill yourself," they all got put onto a list similar to a black list) or if it's multiple insults, just generally being an asshat all the time (trolling, just being a douche, etc.) will get you onto my small blacklist.
The other few people on my blacklist are there for having shady boosting practices (i.e. having x copies of a game with x+1 entrants for many giveaways and dev boosting)

I picked other. If someone is a regifter (like, any of their wins in the last month or two), then I blacklist. Same with beggers. I also blacklist people that are extremely rude on the forums. That said, I only have I think 15 people total on my blacklist. So you need to be extremely nasty for me to bother to click your profile to blacklist.

First of all, rule-breakers, generally speaking: not activating/regifting/doublewinning. About 90% of blacklist, if not more.
Second: cussing, swearing, sh*tting on people - if you swear in context (shitty game, fuck my life, broke my computer) that's okay. Using it after every second word is not. Swearing at someone or using the old, but good " hope your mother gets cancer" and things like that are the things that unforgivable.like 3-5%? 100+ persons on BL, maybe 3-4 of this reason.
Third, maaybe...being generally inactive at the site, not giving while you obviously could. ( 2 person maybe, so ~1-1.5%)
Like one with 6 given 111 won ratio while having hundreds of newer, bundled games, and 2+ years spent without giveaways. It's not hard to throw in once every time. I don't even care about the quality of game, so if you buy a bundle every half year and give away the 6 games in a monthly manner, I'm also okay with that. Just don't be the 0 given -100+ won person
To be honest it's so hard to care about low ratio - I can't really tell if one person can't afford games to give away or just literally just a leecher if they've got like 50 games, mostly free ones. Also, if you're a normal, reasonable person who can communicate well and civilized, then you have nothing to do with my 3rd rule. I rather give my games for one good guy's 200th game that will be played maybe next year than to give it to someone who's just ruining everyone's day with toxicity.

Basically, for breaking rules.
Either SG ones (regift, multiply wins, call out) or GA creator's ones ("don't comment thanks", "comment thanks if you win" etc).
Also, guys with Sent 0, Won >3
are welcome into my blacklist as well.
I don't blacklist for swearing and all that.

you don't want to date someone, or someone doesn't want to date you?

I sometimes see something like blacklist war - blacklisting everyone for everything with no reason, with stupid reason, with sensible reason.
For what you blacklist most often and for what you were (if you know about that).
It can be interesting in my opinion.
